Loooolll.... very funny. Happy weekend Sir Emma.... I was just passing by. It's funny "your prayer" came on the eve of my birthday and I am seeing this mention on my birthday. Can we make out some time later tonight perhaps... I am out now. But again, I have to tell ya that my own is a special and classified research scholarships program aiit... that requires me to spend just about 15-20% of my research program's time in Baltimore especially now that I am in my full resident phase of the program (online and on campus) with the remaining 80-85% spent via the official online platforms. There are a few other scholarship opportunities out there on the internet but not many like this program I am on. In fact, almost none other like it that I know of. I recall getting another for three months but not online (it required me to spend all three months there in Turkey) but I eventually declined because of a very important medical project I had to oversee in the east at same time. So this one is like a wild card research scholarship slot at one of the world's finest medical institutions' top sub-research centers. So uhmmm... I hope you don't mind me facing work now and having a little birthday fun before I see you much later tonight...? Thanks in advance. Lol Emmanueulj: |

TheSuperNerd: Wow, big dreams you have there... and you're also working towards it Neurosurgery (reminds me of Ben Carson), Medicine and Surgery, Human Anatomy?? Like how courses do you plan to study or they're all related? Well, when I was younger, I used to dream of Yale, Harvard or Cambridge and I aspired to be a doctor 'cause 1) My aunt 8 kids are all doctors 2) I visit the hospital frequently and 3) I'm brilliant (and I used to write a lot then!! short stories ). But as I got older and discovered more about me- my likes, interests, passion -and how I don't enjoy calculations and my phobia for blood , I switched to art(i really love reading and writing). I'd lost focus of my 'study abroad' dream during the years till I came across a scholarship post here on nl and the desire was ignited again. Now, I'm going to study Law. Might specialize in Family or Human Rights. And I'll definitely have my masters overseas- in any of the social sciences (only Social Work combines it all, so this is likely) I want to help homeless people by working with NGOs and help people deal with emotional issues. It makes me happy seeing people free from pain and discomfort. These are just few of my many dreams. And I also want to be a writer. Definitely. |

Looollll.... It is like you are interested only in doing online courses. Well, it is gonna cost ya...coz few of my cousins pay big for theirs. Okay, first of all man, you got to have the necessary requisite qualifications aiit. Coz it all depends on what program it is And also what course.... For each has their own various dynamics and angles.... A simple search via google on available online degree courses will see you launch into a world of finding a good school abroad that offers just the online degree you are looking for. Then you have to have your cash, enough to cover tuition and purchase your own materials shipped for you from abroad. Some will be provided via online links in software form. Most online degree programs are paid for. Mine is way different. It is not a degree program. It is a research scholarships program aiit. Now, just in case you are interested in anything beyond just online degree programs, then check out these sites... www.afterschoolafrica.com www.scholarship-positions.com Just start with these.... Godbless and take care man. You can disturb shaa oooo and you almost never show up for a meeting... Lol... Being prompt and really serious with what you are pursuing is another thing you have to master if you must reach the top my friend Emmanueulj: |
Re: What's Your Dream Institution? If You Had The Chance To Get There... by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:12am On Mar 21, 2018 |
Thanks so much for the feedback and response ma'am. And yeah, Benjamin Solomon Carson.... He's one of my top role models in science and medicine. But I am not limited to just Neurosurgery pursuits now... My dreams have gotten kinder bigger and broader and with all sides of it interconnected with one another. And yes plsss... A graduate of Human Anatomy, I am. Then I bagged this top classified research scholarships in neurosciences (not limited to just neuro, as it also cuts across some other interdisciplinary biomedical/research science fields like Stem Cells, neuropsychology, Molecular and cell biology and a few more) making me also a research resident (online/on campus) at Hopkins medicine's BSI. So I studied Human Anatomy to the fullest separately first. And in Medicine and surgery, Anatomy is also done but not on a deep research or broadly clinical level as seen as a degree course. Instead, it is taken as a course on a 2nd MBBS basic level where one must master the entire Human body to the core inside out and outside in. So yes, in a broader science sense, they are all related but each has their own specific high paths. And how many I still plan to study or bag? Lol... It is all about my pathway ma'am but this thread has given a fine hint ao far. Remember I said these are even among the least of my overall goals. And you say your Aunt's 8 kids??! All eight of them doctors? Wow! They remind me of the Guyton family. You know uhmmm... Late Arthur C. Guyton, whose eight kids are all doctors too and he himself was a doctor too. Lol... Guyton is the author of a medical physiology textbook that ranks among the very finest in the field. Seems you belong to another version of "no ordinary family" lol And you dreamed of Yale, Cambridge or Harvard? But that was when you were still nursing medicine ambitions right? Ambitions you no longer nurse coz you have finally found your niche... Which is law and all connected to your writing gifts. Hmmmm... Very very cool. You also love to read... Tell me what genre of books interest you most? And now that you are law bound, I must congratulate you and also I am glad to read that you consider your masters abroad but wow, in the social sciences. Your law specialty will be human rights or family? Hmm... Wow... I guess you are more people-oriented and just love to deal with anything helping or standing up for people. Talking about working with NGOs to help people and reach out to many, what about also having your own NGO? Not thinking along that line too? Hey, just asking shaa... @ bolded below in your post... It is truly beautiful and always a Joy to hear this kind of thing from people like yourself. Shows there is still hope for the world to a good extent. And shows the path you are willing to take beyond just your academic dreams... You are writer... That I can see... And I must say welcome again... because I am a writer too. I have a fee book projects in the drawer at the moment but just taking my time with them. I Love Writing and enjoy reading so much. Thanks for sharing your dreams and thoughts with me Ma'am. I wish you all the best I'm your endeavors. Godbless. Ams always remember, "The way of excellence is the way of the brave" Stay brave, and never give up when small glitches crop up to derail your ambitions... All is well. Magnoliaa: |

TheSuperNerd: Wish you success in all your dreams pursuit. And l look forward to reading about new discoveries in science attributed to you and the theories you'll be propounding, broadening the already existing ones for the next generation of science students ... like 'The Supernerd's Law of 'Neuroanalysis' or a brain replacement surgery , could this be ever possible?? How will you keep the person's consciousness? Anyway, never mind... I just came up with it randomly... So, good luck. Study and soar as much as you can! And, why are interested in the neurosurgery field? Never of Guyton... That's awesome though. The genre I enjoy.. Hmm, well I reeally enjoy reading mafia stories(these are mostly online) with the fights and killing/betrayals of the rival gang members and drug lords, crime with dark, dark themes but not too dark. lol Oh! and with a BWWM(Black woman, white man) main characters. I also enjoy reading crime/detective novels and lastly historical fiction. Catherine Coulter made me love the genre. And yes, I'm passionate about people and their welfare. In every area I've thought about having my own non-profit organization too. I'm thinking of an agency that provides numerous help be it emotionally(as in a counseling, a rehab center), environmentally(homeless shelters), and also something like a training school for social workers... They're just ideas though, 'll see how things turn out. There's this Ghandi's quote I do repeat to myself whenever I see or hear about evil stuffs. The quote is about not losing faith in humanity even those it's easier to think otherwise nowadays... We just have to keep trying and spreading the good.. You're a writer too!!... Awwn.... What do you write about? |
Re: What's Your Dream Institution? If You Had The Chance To Get There... by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:10pm On Mar 22, 2018 |
Awwwwwwwwn.... wow! You really brought a smile out of me there. Hmmmm... wow... The Supernerd's law of "anything neuro-related" like your proposed name for possibly future discovery of mine.... "The Supernerd's law of neuroanalysis"... lol... wow... you have no idea how I was just smiling at this. Such faith already being shown in me. Thanks Magnoliaa. I hope not to disappoint shaa... lots of expectations on my shoulders but the highest expectations are the ones I have for myself which are so so high on a limitless scale and the Ones God has for me. And a brain replacement surgery could be possible. But I gotta tell ya, the chances are of it happening now are not close at all. I mean why is this so? The human brain remains an enigma wrapped in a conundrum in so many areas like understanding why we yawn and so many other things which make the Brain quite a fascinating subject. But there is an initiative on now, called " Initiative 2045" founded by a Russian Billionaire called "Dmitry Istkov" I think... his overall plan is to establish cybernetic immortality (Avatar D) where mankind will live forever but in the forms of Hi-super-tech holograms. But one of the stages in the initiative is to have brain transplant conducted before reaching the final hologram stage by 2045. Well, we are in 2018 in this 21st century and I am following keenly as well as studying/researching broadly on the Brain; so we will see what happens... lol... Also, there is an Italian neurosurgeon, Sergio Cannavaro, who is testing the waters little by little via conducting model trials for head transplants but latest reports show that his trial conducted alongside a top Chinese orthopedic surgeon on a corpse didn't work. It kinda failed meaning a long way still has to be covered to come up with a successful model operation before it can ever be tested on a Human being. One of the reasons why I wanna fully understand and conquer the brain is related to my personal goals which is to rid mankind someday of cancer especially brain cancer and a couple more neurodegenerative disorders (don't worry, I am aware of the Bug Pharma corps.' and the politics in the top echelons of science). But knowing the brain in full is key to all these and much more. So I really got my work cut out for me in many ways in science, medicine, business and more. It is not just about achieving fantastic grades and having excellent term papers and smashing academic records and gaining some more fame for myself... nope...but it is also and really about pushing the boundaries of science beyond what we know now and I know with the continuous help of the HolySpirit, this brave young black guy from Africa will smash through the ceilings of the limits set on this and more. Why am I interested in Neurosurgery? Well, I guess I have hinted already on the "Why" to an extext above... but I will also add that it is because I have a deep calling (discovered this in SS2 and it was also connected to an experience I had at age 7) to solve the mysteries of the world's finest and most complex super system ever made.... " The Human Brain"... and to also serve humanity in that capacity providing top class care to my fellow citizens back in Africa and Nigeria in particular with a chance of getting access to true neuro-care and neuro-help. Neurosurgery is one of my central niches... and I am in love with the Human brain. Never of guyton? Well, now you know ma'am... lol. And yeah, it is truly awesome. On your book genres... hmmm... now you got some really interesting tastes for books. I also do crime/detective fiction/novels, historical fictions (Catherine Coulter? haven't read much of her works but Insidious and Nightingale legacy comes to mind shaa), Romance suspense thrillers/Romance fictions, Medical fictions, and yeah... sci-fi fiction works too and Action thrillers. I also love to read comics by DC and Marvel especially. On Mafia stories, I mix it up, I watch movies on them and then for some I read too. I also enjoy inspirational/motivational very much and books on business, relationships, personality and much much more.... I just love books (online or hardcopy). Your passion and dreams in terms of help and consideration for people is well labelled and beautifully spelt out @bolded... I am quite impressed. Don't worry, no harm in believing things will turn out okay. Things won't be so easy I know but so long as you stay on course with these dreams mentally, then you will have it in your hands in reality eventually. All it will take is TIME. We attract what we most think about and muse about. So just stay in faith and keep giving your best and doing what you can to get you on the path to achieving all these and I believe soon we will be looking at and hearing of "Magnoliaa's school of magnificence" or "Magnoliaa magnificent foundation (MMF)" And you are spot on on Ghandi's words. This was a man who even saw the cruelty in mankind in different colors but still stood by his faith of making the world a better place full of good hearted people. Ghandi's philosophy and dreams helped make India. Although India is not exactly at the level Ghandi foresaw for his people but at least, his dreams and focus gave us a glimpse of how much goodness man can portray and how much excellence man can attain if mankind decide to walk the path of the great and good. I'm also reminded of Superman in the fictional universe. He stood for good and justice. He just believed in spreading good and I hope to emulate that on a much more bigger scale than I am doing now and more in ways even Jesus would want me to. On writing... yessssss.... nice to hear you are a writer too. I just kinda grew into this gift from my baby years and my writings cut across all kinds of topics. I write on medical topics, majorly not on this platform but in my archives and have shared some on Facebook couple of times. I also write on fictions cutting across romance, crime/detective, and also Inspirational/motivational etc... I currently have two book projects (one on Spiritual/Inspirational and the other is a medical text classic) I am working on but my time schedule is so loaded and I haven't given them much time like that. Lol... but progress is being made little by little on that front. So yeah Ma'am.. I am a writer... lol Wow... so much said already... do you mind sending a PM? Maybe more can be shared via that route too... and I may have to give you a follow but after you first, lady... I believe they say "Ladies first" sometimes.... Lol... anyway it's nice and beautifully cool to meet you Magnoliaa... Nice to meet your magnificent mind. And which school are you beginning your "law quest" at in Nigeria? That is before the abroad plans kick in when you are done with LLB and Law School and a few years of working experience too..... Magnoliaa: |

Loll... Sir Emma. You really do have a knack for "not showing up" shaa... Anyway, you are welcome. And uhmmm... The links? Come on man, I already told you... Just do a simple search on "online degree courses/studies" one can do with a foreign school without going abroad and you will find quite a good number of them. Then you check the most suitable one by one. Come on now, don't be lazy aiit... If you want this bad.. Then put in some efforts. Don't allow me spoon feed you all the way okay... So I believe it's been a pleasure. All the best Sir Emma... And hey! Pleaseeeee, try to be on time for future "important" meetings in your life... Woah! Sri-lanka you say? Now that is so very very very specific... And what will be your major field focus at the institute of BCH, MB and Biotech in colombo? Will it incorporate all three fields or you are looking at either just Molecular Biology or Biotechnology or Biochemistry. This is really a fine dream you've got there Winifred. Wow... Cool field choice... Cellular and Molecular Immunology. So you are fascinated with the human immune system eh... So what drove you to such choice? And I'm guessing your passion for the immune system is tied to your wanting to understand how else to tackle diseases based on how the Immune system fights off invading diseases and more right? Or I believe there is more to it... And yeah... So help you God Ma'am... Winifred468: |

TheSuperNerd: While in sec sch, I aspired to study Medicine...but my JAMB + P/UME aggregates could only afford me to study Microbiology. I opted for that hoping to still fall back in to the medical line with my subsequent degrees. Bottomline? _ I have a passion to impact & save lives I really wanna be a commonwealth scholar, hence my specificity. |
Re: What's Your Dream Institution? If You Had The Chance To Get There... by TheSuperNerd(m): 5:29pm On Mar 28, 2018 |
Your passion is commendable and very noble. So it was your initial aspiration for medicine that finally set you on this unique path into one of the fast growing biomedical fields. Hmmm... Indeed our paths can indeed have a way of eventually aligning us with our true passion. So you saying you are currently studying Microbiology or that you are done with that? Which is which? You are really keen on becoming a Commonwealth scholar leading to your cellular and molecular immunology pathway .... The way you keep saying it I pray you fulfill this Commonwealth scholarship dream ma'am. Just ensure that you keep doing each day at least one thing that will bring you close to this dream. Honestly, I understand that there are some things that we personally wanna achieve in order to boost our confidence for the next level of our climb to the top... So I understand your commonwealth obsession. And until a dream becomes an obsession, then that dream have not captured you well enough. It is well Ma'am. Winifred468: |

GREAT! So you are in your finals already... And that's a fine project topic you working on. Hopefully you build from this point on and even publish a few research articles in rated research journals. And on the pursuit of scholarships, don't worry, you are already in line for thus next phase.. just take it one step at a time and finish your finals very very strongly. Ensure you smash an A in your project too. Hey! you can do it... Your dreams can come true Winifred.... it is all in your hands dear. Just stay in faith and ensure you keep giving your best... and when the time comes to apply for the Commonwealth scholarships and more, you take it in your stride and hope for the very best trusting God to help you land one. Like I said before, I really admire your passion and dreams. I love the fact that your plans to seek further top educational degrees and academic exposure abroad (outside the African continent) won't stop you from still returning to your home nation at some point to come channel your knowledge through for the benefit of the Nigerian Society. Just keep on keeping on... it is well with you Ma'am aiit. Godbless and Happy Easter in advance. Winifred468: |
