The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to rescind his decision on the Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) establishment and sign the bill into law.
The NYCN in collaboration with aoalition of non governmental organisations, civil society irganisations and various youths groups told journalists over the weekend in Minna that the action of President Buhari had dashed the hopes and aspirations of millions of youths.
The Niger state Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Jibrin Abdullahi Muregi made the appeal at a news conference at the weekend urging President Buhari to consider the advantages, benefits and gains that the establishment of PCN will bring to Nigeria.
According to Muregi, “a country that fails to engage its youths productively is a nation sitting on a keg of gunpowder.
“The youths were anxiously waiting for the opportunity to contribute to nation building through the provision of peace related services and to ensure security, law and orderliness in the nation when President Buhari’s action dashed their hopes”,he added.
He stated further, “We hereby call on Mr. President to assent to the PCN bill. The youths stood by him, he should stand for the youths; he should listen to the voices of the youths because the youths listened to him. We are the future, youths exclusion is injustice.

I thought the NA are ready to veto him, they shall go ahead and lobby them more. After all they were the ones benefitting from the scam in the first place.
