So peradventure we lose to Poland 4-0, does that make the team useless?
We are sure building a team for the future, presently we should not get our hopes too high even when they fail to win, we should stand by them and allow the coaches do their jobs. Personally, i see friendlies as inconsequential and unconnected to the WC proper
Bro, don't be deceived by our thrashing of Argentina in last game, at the WC those guys will be a totally different bunch of players
Oga, we beat Argentina, we don beat den be dat. What do you mean we should don't be deceived. Nigeria smashed Argentina, finito!!

What if they defeat ed us what would be your narrative?

Whether We're going to confront a different Argentina is another match and issue entirely

Mobdro does not have supersport. (Last time I checked). Bein sports 10 will show it. If not 10, scroll through 4-9.

lol. you're funny.

Does snub have a new dictionary meaning?

We both know what I'm talking about here. No need to define "snub" again.

Words and actions have different meanings in different places.

Saying an innocent, How are you? To someone who is much older can be construed as being disrespectful in some cases in Nigeria.

In England it would be simply not an issue.

somehow:
Iwobi can't play the role Mikel handles for us.

Enough said, i can't argue with you oga. we wouldn't be asking for a replacement for Mikel if Iwobi was a fit. that you don't know this says alot.

Whatever you believe, stick with it sir. thank you for your time. tongue

Yeah... Anyone that believes Iwobi can replace Mikel doesn't know what he's saying

You can never go through any game or competition without high BP. Even the Spanish team of 2010, if you checked their fans bp in the games against Paraguay and Holland you'd know some fainted. As a true fan you must always have ur heart aching

forgiveness:

Yes, you are right Keshi team did it but with BP, hypertension, heart attack, kwatankwa football etc. grin

I hope you can spot the difference. grin

Can you point one person that kicked against Joel Obi citing team spirit as reason?

Almost everybody supported the invitation of Joel Obi. The only caveat was his injury

Seems like the only reason you list so many players for invitation is so you can gloat and say 'I told you so'.

Alot here. No time to dig out names.

No. I am only trying to prove that people just against some monikers view point for no good reason or because they already believe everything they write are rubbish but we now know better. grin

Forgiveness is right. Alot of people kicked against Joel Obi's call up.. some citing injury while others maintained that his inclusion might affect the high team spirit and bonding.

I remember the match Victor Moses scored with penalty, people were just hissing. Mtcheww.. Mtcheww... Mtcheww..

Shows there was no hope of us winning the cup but that was not the case with the 94 set.

If you have been following my response on this thread you'd know I've never been a fan of Onazi style of football. I'm happy when he performs but his style of DM/CM is the Jack of all trade style. Football no be gragra again but a science you calculate every move.
I have followed his football but never liked his style. Anyway like I've always said I'll pick Ogu over Onazi anytime anyday.

For the DM role, Onazi is better than most of the others including Ogu in my opinion..

Rewatch Onazi vs Cameroon, home and Away.. totally unplayable...

The bolded, very wrong. When you say a lot kicked against his call up, you made it look like no be all of us dey this thread again. I think you are mistaking the way most people reacted to the demand for Martins call up for Joel's .

Joel has always been fans Favourite even on this thread. What a lot of people were worried about was his frequent injuries.

Yeah if they had defeated us, it would just be normal thing to everybody. No one would remember it's just a friendly.

Exactly; Nigerians like to use and dump, Ogu is a fantastic play with a very strong shot and he deserve to be in the squad, but Onazi has been consistent for the eagles since he made his debut.

why fix wetin no spoil?

I raised this question weeks ago. TheSuperNerd dey call me Jerseymatics.

We go dey look na.

Poland cannot wear Red and white and we wear Green and white.

We can only wear that green on white if Poland compromise their home jersey by wearing all red.

Else we are wearing the Dark green.

Who is home in the fixture between Nigeria and Serbia?

Mind you Serbia's home jersey is Dark blue on white.

if Serbia is the home team in the fixture and they chose to wear their Blue on white?
Wetin we go come wear?

My brother. I had begun to type just exactly what you wrote above but I lost steam midway and just wrote glory Hunter Weh done. Joel Obi was resisted because of his injury woes. Nobody queried his quality or his ability to blend with the team. And the fact is even in the media (we sef na media now ooo, aka social media) his injury woes was the only issue that kept popping up. Solace Chukwu even wrote an article addressing this point. is good to do well in your preparation but does not translate to success in the main event, I remember before 2002 worldcup, NFA led by Ibrahim Galadima and our Coach Onigbinde "sitdown look" organised just one friendly for the eagles against kenya, just because they want us to look wonderful.

I will love Poland to show us our weakness, I want lewandowski to bully our oyibo wall, all I'm clamouring for is the fans to reduce there expectation during this friendly, I will be very happy for us to win but i wont be sad if we lose
One friendly? I doubt it was even against Kenya. We played friendlies against Paraguay where Ogbeche forever etched himself in our minds as the flower that bloomed too soon. We played Scotland and then Jamaica.

Even now, his making the final team irrespective of his performance in the friendlies is still in doubt.

Some times coaches can drop a player because of this kind of uncertainty.
He may make the final team now and sustain an injury 5minutes into the tournament and remain ruled out for the rest of the tournament, thereby making the team in short of one player.

If a Player like Joel Obi is in a team you must be sure to have at least 2 back-up players for his position while other positions may have 1 back-up. That can be a headache for the coach.
