Sir it seems you are not getting the point.

My major point is that guys are free to mention players whether good or bad,no need to take it personal cos is a football thread where we need to brainstorm.

Am not canvassing for call up of any of these players but just trying to tell you what brought their names up for discussion.

And mind you any of them can make the team cos i have example, Mike Emenalo from nowhere made US 94 team
Smiles...Not taking it personal....None of those player you mentioned will make the world cup team....Quote me when the world cup list is out and one player from there make it....2018 is not 1994

Sir i think we beat Poland at home which was damn good and great confidence booster though our team did not pose real threat.

The 3-5-2 formation is one of the formations in football and mind you not the best formation cos sometimes it exposed a team,so sometimes we need to be cautious.

Truly we beat Argentina with it but doesn't mean we can beat any team with it.We should praise the team for having different formation.

On Iwobi,i will not deceive you it's not the formation that affected him and Iheanacho or are you saying they can only thrive in 3-5-2 alone, check out Ebuehi when he came in and settled in 4-2-3-1 with our believe that he is only good at 3-5-2.

Good for the team to master different formations.
Chief, I understand you and I am not shading yesterdays game, the team played well, but you also have to admit, how many real goal threats was there for the team yesterday from our strikers ? Ebuehi is a solid defender in any formation, but our attacking section of the team was extra blunt yesterday. Ighalo except for his perfomance againt Cameroon(where strength was needed) has been invincible in other games including yesterday's. So if 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 or hybrid 4-4-2, Iwobi is more terrifying if he was up front and we have a counter attacking situation; now with our young athletic and strong defensive team, we would be having a lot of opportunities to run counter attacks on teams for that we need to play the formation and personnels that will give us the best advantage.

Sir there is nothing different,i know as at last year you will argue it that Uzoho will never be a first choice.

Pls football is not predictable.

Mikel is guilty of the same thing too, even more that Ndidi.
No he isn't. I am talking of normal passes with his man next to him. Mikel likes long passes like the OMG no looker he gave Ighalo against Cameroon.

I will never argue about uzoho..Who is the keeper we have that will make me argue about uzoho? Super eagles no get keeper,Uzoho played 2 laliga with deportivo before he was called up,I repeat i will never argue about uzoho being first choice or not because we have no goal keeper,Cameroun first choice goal keeper during their afcon trump played for sevilla second team or so.

The shot at Francis was way easier than Courtois. For one Messi used the element of surprise and he was not being marked by defenders unlike Lewandowski.
No matter how you want to analyse it, he didn't pull a Courtois. Weak oh, strong o, defenders or not, angle or not, he just didn't succeed grin

I think Rohr wants to make sure that the SE is what Tyrone really wants. And the boy has been showing hunger so I think Rohr is doing the right thing. Rohr is also showing that there will not be an automatic slots for players just because they were born abroad and I think that is the right thing to do. They have to earn their place in the team.
Ok na. Let it be so ooo.

why is it difficult for you to understand this, in Madrid the assign free-kick taker is ronaldo, but asensio is very good at it, few times he get the opportunity he scored them, that include bale, kroos and even modric

when last did ronaldo score a free-kick, if this example is not good for you then I cant help you
but Ronaldo has always scored from dead balls....even though he may not be scoring now.
now over to Victor Moses...which free kick has he put in the net?
since I have been watching him play free kicks...I can't remember any he has scored.

moreover he is not in same level with Ronaldo...the latter is world best...a unique and iconic player....so that comparism don't even add up...in the first place.

I think you need to help yourself first..

I am very certain we will either win or come out tonight with a draw (bookmark this and quote me after the game).
Our wins against Argentina, Zambia, Algeria and Cameroun are no flukes. It is true that we have not played an European team (until tonight) which would proffer us the opportunity to gauge our tactical strength as European teams emphasize on technicality.
Albiet I have faith in the team and from what many have observed we no longer play our traditional style of football. We are technical. We play to our strength. We actually play European football now and we have fund a way to mix it with our traditional attacking threat and rawness.
We are at par at the moment with what technical capabilities many European teams may have to offer and I can guarantee that in technique, we will cancel out most European teams. Our edge over them will be our raw attack.
Like I said, bookmark this and quote me after the Poland and Serbia games. We will do well in all five. (Poland, Serbia, England, Croatia and Iceland).
However with South American teams I admit it may be a different story.
asha80:
i actually fear european teams than south american teams whenever we have a good nigerian team

What false dichotomy?

I never said they were half Nigerian, half European. I only asked you on what ground are they European? I made it clear, "they are Nigerians. Period"

joseph1013:
You're pulling an unnecessary fallacy called fallacy of false dichotomy here.

That you're an European does not mean you cannot be a Nigerian. It is not an either/or proposition.

Why are you making a big fuss about this?

This will be my last comment on the matter.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:52pm On Mar 24, 2018
No, these players want to be identified as Nigerians from their actions. That's the point. So they are Nigerians.

Modified
And they have equal rights to Nigeria as every Nigerian born in Nigeria.

Mujtahida:
Joebie the point is clear na. They are Nigerians. They are Europeans. If I choose to call them any one of this identities it doesn't nullify the other. But then Sir joseph1013 maybe in context of their position with us Joebie feels the Nigerian part overshadows or should overshadow all other identities.

This is Nigerian team has a making of a champion. First half we were in the heart of their defence, 1st ighalo shot that went way over the bar, then ighalo shot that was blocked and nacho cldnt control in the 6yard box. Then iwobis dummy dribble, then ighalos. We matched them in the midfield with just two midfields. Joel fought, ndidi fought like a tiger. Nacho hussled, ighalo persevered. Whenever we break on the counter they hack us down. In a world cup game, the poles will receive nothing less than 2 red cards yesterday. Immediately Onazi came in for Joel our midfield collapse and Ogu was brought in to stabilize things, which he did and we had some few chances to kill the game. The only mistake Joel made was shooting on goal instead of releasing a free striker on the counter.
I look in awe a midfield combo of Joel, Mikel and ndidi. Joel, onazi and etebo. Mikel, ndidi and onazi. Ogu, joel and etebo. Ogu, joel and ndidi. Joel, onazi and ndidi. On Tuesday, start ndidi, ogu and onazi bring Joel in the second half and see.
These team will shock the world mark this space.
@ tbaba 1234, I sight you bro.

I would attribute his shaky first half to the fact that he faced a home crowd of that magnitude maybe for the first time.
The commentator's statement towards the end of the game says it all about his performance:

". Nigeria has found a decent goalkeeper in this young man"

I hope he gets another full game against Serbia.

It was obvious that without Mikel we find it hard to link midfield with attacks and only way is to find solution either with our formations or searching for one.

I remember Westerhoff made a lasting solution to his team with just a month to WC with Chidi Nwanu and Mike Emenalo inclusion and i think Rohr can do the same unless he is satisfied with the team performance without Mikel.

Now in the team we have Ndidi,Onazi,Joel, and Agbo who am still suspecting his always inclusion without kicking ball even in friendlies, calling Mikel Agu as a replacement for Mikel leave a question ?

My major question is Sone Aluko not good enough to slug it out even the young prodigy Kelechi Nwakili can be called up and let see what he can do.

Just too obvious we need good AM.
I do much agree with the bolded...
