I am very excited, I want to learn more! It's a privilege to do this job and I want it to be a success..... I will give a background about the job, sometime in 2014 engine started making some funny noises and it was taken to "specialist", who did a couple of things..... Car was acquired in 2013, maintenance was carried out by the "company mechanics" who I am sure didn't take note of oil type and diesel quality. When it started making noise, the engine was written off and a quote for a new engine was given to the client then. He obliged and paid, however it was taking longer than expected to complete the job, eventually the car returns sounding very much like "truck" instead of a "TRUCK", it was driven in the hope that the claim of it quietening down but instead the car began overheating and clutch burnt..... The expenditure on trying to ressurect this Defender would buy a 2012-2013 Range Rover Sport, imagine his dismay when the car wasn't working. Trying my hand on a massive transformation is a bit over my head. I would like to restore her back to stock first, electronics have been vandalized so I think anything apart from stock could pose a threat. A 2.4 Puma Engine would be installed instead of the 2.2 Puma Engine, research shows it's easier on fuel, while being more throaty.... 2 Likes 1 Share

This Defender came fitted with a 2.2 Puma TDi, however certain "specialists" force fitted a Ford Transit engine into the engine bay. So the car went from a purring cat to a laughing jackal... 4 Likes 1 Share

LeJeun3 see as better project thread come hide inside car talk section. The devil is a liar. This thread shall not pass over me... Oga mi, are you going to replace the engine with another diesel engine and whats are the major things to be done on this land rover Defender. Dem suppose flog the previous mechanics that worked on this vehicle with army koboko, this is gross abuse of a vehicle..  2 Likes |
