According to this table, clb 5 for tef is equal to delf B1. Alliance Français prepares students for B1 exam and the standard number of learning hours required is 450... Less than six months if one puts in 20 hours a week.

Just trying to make things less abstract for anyone considering boosting crs with tef.

Ehyah, Uncle Blue Biro, This your friend's case is pathetic o.
Actually, the reason why I asked the people concerned about Cyprus PCC is because of the form to be filled and other stuffs that I don't know how to post the form here cos I'm not a computer guru, My post was actually removed and I don't want to be banned, I'll post the info that I have here and we can take it from there, I'm still in the process o, I've not gotten mine either.
mcstan18:

My brothers on this forum looking for a way out of the Cyprus PCC problem, kindly share when you finally find a way through.

I ran into a friend yesterday, who I thought was in the UK for years only for him to tell me that his UK plans fell through and then he landed in Cyprus. I later found out that he's also been in the EE pool too. He had been refused once and declined ITA due to difficulty in obtaining this same PCC. When I asked, he said he sent details/proof of his efforts in trying to obtain one (I can't tell how sufficient they were anyway).

I'll ask him to make more efforts and receive responses, whether positive or negative before submitting again. I think the first was refused because he sent only his communication without any responses to show that the PCC couldn't be obtained from diaspora. I pray that you guys find a way out but please keep us up to date.

Good Friday morning

Hello Cyprus People, Here is the info, was actually excited when I got something that looks like a positive response from their representative office in the US and I immediately announced it on the forum until I read the part that states that you have to legally reside in the US or Canada(I weak) anyways, Here is the plan, send a mail to that address, you will likely receive this same response and send another mail again pleading with them that you don't reside in any of those countries stated above and get a rejection mail....Lol, that rejection mail is what u will provide when CIC ask for prove, I learnt it worked for someone, so let's try.
Goodluck

Dear Applicant

Please find below the steps you need to follow to obtain a criminal record certificate from TRNC authorities:

1. Fill the first page of the attached form. Do not fill the second page. Print the form two sided. You need to fill out this form in the presence of a Notary, who will seal&sign and certify it that the signature belongs to you.

2. The following supporting documentation is also needed:

a. Passport size photos (4 photos), with certification behind them stating the picture is actually you.

b. A simple statement from you with your signature at the bottom, telling us what exactly you need, when / for what reason you lived in North Cyprus, and why you need it, with your contact info at the bottom.

c. If you have been a student in North Cyprus, a copy of your diploma or a letter proving that you were a student can help speed up the processing of your application.

d. A copy of your passport's front page and the first pages with information about you.

(also if you have the pages in your old passport that show when you entered and left the TRNC, that might speed up everything again.)

e. You will need to get a cashier's cheque in the amount of 40 USD. The check cheque should be payable to: TRNC Washington Office. It is your responsibility to check with the Bank to ensure that there will not be any intermediary fees that need to be paid from our end. We do not accept any other form of payment. Cashier’s Cheque only.

3. Include among your documents a pre-paid and labelled FEDEX envelope (pre-paid envelope) so that once your certificate arrives we can send it back to you. Pre-paid envelope should be by FEDEX. If sending from Canada, make sure that the FEDEX return envelope is prepared according to the courier’s instructions. Prefer a computer printed return label on the envelope instead of hand filled label. If you are not legally residing in the United States or Canada your application will not be processed.

5. Expect a 2-3 period months to obtain your certificate.

4. Once you gather up all these documents and have the attached form notarized, send them to:

TRNC Washington Office

1667 K Street, NW

Suite 690

Washington DC, 20006

TRANSLATION OF THE FORM:

For sub-400 applicants only.

How to improve your CRS scores.

Note that a 2 Year Msc in a Canadian School with a registered DLI number should ordinarily give you 2 years Post Graduate Work Permit in Canada during which you can sort out your Express Entry application. Your spouse should get a spouse open work permit based on your study permit when you apply. [b]For more information on number 9, please visit the relevant threads on Canadian study and Spousal Open work permit.
.

Remember that when you work in the right NOC after graduation, you are also increasing your Canadian work experience points.

For more information, see page zero and read through the whole thread.

From the information above, jumping from 300 to 400+ is as simple as A, B, C if you know what you are doing and how to do it.

I wish you all the very best.

Happy Easter!!!

Great piece and insight

2 years Masters in Canada will actually give you 3 years Post Graduate Work Permit

Mr A is interested in immigrating to a new country but not ready to make the sacrifice. Colin Powell said, "A dream doesn't become a reality through magic. It takes sweat, determination, and hard work"

CIC's website is the authentic source of information about the whole process and it should be the blueprint that should guide us in this journey. Asking general, repeated questions shouldn't be encouraged. Yes, we can learn to ignore such questions but those kind of questions do make the thread become longer and even boring.

I don't support hurling insults on people but anyone who is ready to embark on this Canadian journey should be ready to make that great sacrifice (to read, read and read). I understand the fact that everyone is different and unique in their own way. Some people are blessed with research skills while some other people are used to getting things done in a hurry without doing any research. Some set of people want others to spoon-feed them (this shouldn't be encouraged).

We can do things the cheap way, the simple way, for the short-term and without regard for the future. Or, we can make the extra effort, do the hard work, absorb the criticism and make decisions that will cause a better future." - Mike Rounds

I wish everyone the best. smiley

Exactly. This forum gets boring sometimes with repetition of questions and answers

We should try to make sacrifices too. When you research and don't understand, then you can ask but make reference to your research.

Good luck

To add to your 9b, one can just easily do a post graduate diploma course with NOUN which is for 2 semesters or masters which is for 2 or 3 semesters and admission is actually on now and you would be through before the year runs out, no strike(modified).

How to improve your CRS scores.

1. Sibling who is a Canadian Citizen/PR: 15 points

2. French: Up to a maximum of 54 points (Up to 24 for second language ability; 15/30-point bonus for French speakers)

3. Complete skilled work experience in Canada: 180 points (80 for Canadian work alone; up to 100 within skills transferability)

4. Canadian Job offer: A job offer in a professional, managerial, or technical position-50 Points/Job offers for for highly skilled, experienced candidates in select occupations (NOC 00)-200 Points

5. PNP: 600 Points (Please visit the PNP thread for more information).

6. Spouse's Canadian Work Experience: Up to 10 points.

7. Spouse's Study: Up to 10 points.

8. Spouse's IELTS: Up to 20 points.

9. a. The PA can take study leave and do a 1 year Diploma in Canada: 15 points or 30 points for Msc in Canada.
Note that a 2 Year Msc in a Canadian School with a registered DLI number should ordinarily give you 2 years Post Graduate Work Permit in Canada during which you can sort out your Express Entry application. b. If you can't afford Msc in Canada, you can look for a local diploma with a reputable university that you can complete in 1 year. 2 or more degrees will boost your CRS score by about 32 points. If you can then get a Msc from say NOUN it will be 39 points!

10. You can switch your spouse as the PA and check who offers higher points.

Will seriously consider the bolded...I've also heard that french...especially the TEF is difficult. I'll just give it my best and see what comes of it. It's not really new to me though...I almost wrote french in my WAEC but opted out at the last minute (To the chagrin of my teacher then...I can just see him laughing at me now)

Thanks a lot for your advice
Tojued:

Then my next best advice is take a vacation and go for intensive immersion classes at French village badagry or even for a course in Cotonou.

Otherwise private tutor things... Maybe a lecturer at UNIBEN or a very good final year student. They should teach you using tef curriculum.

sincerely though, can you imagine taking ielts based on if you start to learn English now? And even the French say English is easier than their language... But I won't be a naysayer, nothing in life is actually impossible.

Fuzzyman:

No i was not, learnt french from childhood on and off , including two months at alliance francais Yaba. I made the most progress when i took it as a volunteer course at uni for 18 months. Duolingo has helped me get back to that level which is post beginner/ lower intermediate. The short videos and going on online forums will really help. Thanks for wishing me luck.

Do you want to live in montreal? I'm seriously considering it

- Yes, you must have the complete PoF or more but never less. It's approximately CAD12,500 not CAD12,300

- Yes, people have gotten PPR with one year NYSC experience. You need to check your eligibility first since you have just one year work experience.

- Don't worry, Rome wasn't built in a day. You'd get there in no distant time and start troubleshooting other people's problems too.

Please dowe have anyone who got rejected by cic as regards obtaining a work permit as a caregiver,
... would you kindly let me know how you dealt with the rejection by CIC?
like the letter would say you can reapply...did you reapply and did you get the work permit to work as a caregiver in canada?

I could need some help with how to handle interviews , having gotten the LMIA from the employer and and all necessary documentation was included in the application to cic, and during the first interview the high commissioner took off by asking me question as regards childhood diseases in canada and how to handle them as a caregiver( which was not what I was expecting) , this and many more absurd questions were asked and that application was rejected...
Please can someone with experience, who has gone through this (or knows someone who has gone through) caregiver route successfully engage me?Thanks
