I have gone through the entire thread 2ce and equally took notes while at it. Am asking for anyone with more recent updates since things change everyday. Eg no1 here knew that Dr Ayodele has stoped taking cash paying patients til I posted it yesterday. Reading the thread wouldnt have brought forward this information now would it? So dont assume. If u dont have the answers 2 my qstns just jump and pass abeg.

quote author=hajidel post=66229650]You had asked this same question and you were told to go through the thread. Therefore its quite obvious you haven't gone through the thread and I'm guessing the visa is not that important to you if you can't take the time to read through a mere 65 page forum that is full of all the information you may need to successfully get a visa.

I can conclusively state that 2-4 pages down there are couple people who had applied for visa for birthing purposes. One i can say had because i read it and there was another that was refused because I had read it. And no i am not going to pass and thanks for bringing up Dr Ayodele's current status on cash paying patients. Thats news but what you asked is not news because it has been addressed several times.

Please anyone with info on very affordable accommodation within Brampton Ontario area? I need to gather this information before starting to make travel plans as I don't know anyone in Canada and really would like to also use Dr Ayodele. I'm due in November so I still have small time for these arrangements.
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 1:53pm On Mar 30, 2018
if you have read the thread, i think even on page 65, u will see that dr ayodele doew not take cash patients again .

Please people.should try nd read the thread before asking questions. Its getting out of hand now and very tiring which will soon make someone like me to even stop participating

People get angry when you try to correct them like a couple of post prior to this. I think its imperative for anyone who is interested in this journey to respect the contributors and make an effort themselves and go through the thread.

Please do i select tourism as main purpose of visit or other?
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by hajidel: 8:38pm On Mar 30, 2018
Whatever your purpose of visiting is what you will put there. For birth its mostly tourism and there is an option for more explanation "Other" you can use that box to elaborate what your purpose of travel is.

I am not sure if this will help, cos I went through his process a long time ago.
in addressing the second part of your question, if you don't have an invitation letter, upload evidence of your hotel reservation for the proposed duration of stay, as your visa is for medical tourism.
but please don't quite me, as I had a letter of invitation when I initially applied for my visa.
All the best!

Hi,

Please pardon me if this post is not following the thread. I am not sure am doing a good job with finding my way on Nairaland. All the same, I am trying to provide some information for all those who are asking about having information on cost for delivery without insurance in Canada.

Response

I was given the information that some hospitals have special reduced rate for women without Health Insurance coverage. The first thing then is to ask your hospital if they have payment plans for women with low income. Payment plans could be installment or a large cut off from the initial bill. In essence, dont be scared of the big figures you hear or see, you may not pay up to the big cost. They will need evidence you earn low and thanks to poor naira to dollar exchange ...all the big naira na small dollars. Your Nigeria payslip is enough for this I was informed. Having said that, if you provide me with the name of hospital , I could make calls for you to know their pricing and of other plans that will be beneficial. Good news is that, if they dont offer what is needed, they will refer to where such cheaper maternity services could be accessed. Anywhere in this place is good, the system works..no story...although some hospitals could have more facilities but basically...You will be fine...Pray also.

@preciousfab, Please have you during the course of your findings found any hospital in Brampton with such package? Or atleast one that accepts cash payment? Thanks for your help.

Any doctor and hospital suggestion in Brampton please? Thanks.

Eilenora:

Pls call and give us an update on the position as at today. Hope no b say d person am sendn 2 do d ground work is doin 1 foul play somewhere

@Eilenora, No foul play. I called Dr Abou and the secretary said they do not accept cash payment anymore and she was even kinda rude and hung up eventually. Do you know if your contact in Canada who made the call on your behalf spoke to the Secretary or was able to speak with the doctor himself.

Any luck with finding another Dr that accepts cash yet?

Thanks so much for your offer Hotstepper. God bless; Sending wifey back will be last resort of course but if all fails and for her and baby safety and reduce risk if no hospital or Dr is got, I will have to send her back as she can successfully give birth back home as well.

If i remember well you are in Missisigua / Toronto?
And will you be able to organize accommodation for us to rent?
And get us a doctor and hospital?

We will look at the Ottawa option as well in the meantime.

@hajidel, any luck yet?

Hi good day.
Please what hospital did you use in Calgary?
Maybe u could tell me the gp that referred you please?
How long it took to get long and short birth certs?

I thank you for your responses.

[Qquote author=jinnyz post=49788414]Hello Ladies I recently had my baby in Calgary, Canada. Before I applied I read nairaland from pg 1 to 20 plus then. Pls let's read the ALL the pages before asking any question.

At the point of Entry the officer just asked my why am in canada, I said Visiting. He asked who?, what I do for a living & other random questions that has nothing to do with my pregnancy, don't think I spent more than 1 minute him.

My bill for Vaginal Delivery

Admittance fee 838,
Hosp fee daily 3673 (For 24 hrs)
Baby's Hosp bill 1080
Obstetrician fee 500
Paediatrician fee 250
Total CAD$6,341

Other Expenses
Birth Certificate long 60
Birth Certificate short 41
Passport photo 25.2
Canadian Passport 107
Nigerian Travel Doc 100
Post to Nig. Embassy to & Fro 40
My baby's KLM ticket 243.5

Please Note: If they had asked me if I was pregnant at the Point of entry I would have said YES. There is no point lieing when u r obviously pregnant. If u r lucky u can meet a good officer.

This bill does not include seeing doc before & after delivery. I posted my bill to give a guideline, bills varies from the city u give birth, the doctor, type of delivery and also if there is complication.

I want to use this opportunity to thank Hotstepper for her assistance when applying for baby's Nigeria document. I wld HV applied for Nigerian Visa or passport for baby BT she explained to me that its not necessary. I should just apply for Emergency Travel Certificate for baby which is cheaper & faster.

If you need further information I will try my best to answer. Goodluck!
