In the month of february two interesting events happened in nigeria. They share a little similarity and contrast. They are similar because they involve two church girls, Leah Sharibu and Bambam. In february these two church girls were both tested and tried. Leah Sharibu a fifteen year old northen christian girl was abducted among others by the dreadful boko haram. Her trial which still continued is, "convert to Islam and regain your freedom like your other school mates or stick to your faith and remain in captivity". It is no news what her decision was. The little teenage girl defied the dreadful gun welding bokoharam and chosed captivity to compromising her conviction and faith. While a few disgruntled folks have criticised her decision, her parents and millions of persons across the world have admired her boldness and unflinching loyalty to christ even in the face of death. She is a heroine to many. On the other hand is Bambam another church girl much older than leah. Her temptation is to do the awful in the hope of getting famous enough to win a mouth watering prize of 45million. Unlike leah ,bambam stooped so low to drink from the devil's cesspit. She sold her chastity to a villian( of all places in a toilet )before the watcful eyes of millions. While leah refused to deny christ and honoured him, bambam betrayed christ for 45million naira and like judas could not spend his, she never eventually got the money. By some poetic justice she got evicted. She is now to live with guilt and infamy. I only hope like judas she will not contemplate suicide but return like a prodigal to God who she disgrace. These tales leave us with a lesson. Sharibu honoured God and GOD will honor her whether in life or death. Bambam dishonoured God for a mess of pottage and end up lossing all: the prize money, her reputation, and am sure teddy has no plans for her thereafter. Church girls and everyone pls emulate sharibu not bambam. It is a tale of a heroine and a villian. Anyone near bambam should tell her that Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery and he will forgive her if she repents.
