 - Troops deployed in Exercise Ayem Akpatuma in Taraba state have arrested some criminal elements

- The criminals were operating in Mayo Nadaga area of the state

- They were arrested by the troops in conjunction with the Nigeria Police

 Troops deployed in Exercise Ayem Akpatuma in Taraba state in conjunction with personnel of the Nigeria Police on Saturday, March 31 arrested some criminal elements operating in Mayo Ndaga area of the state.

 Items recovered from one of the suspects Amos Titus- 35, include sheets of zinc, bed and locally made pistol. 

Other suspects Palat Jafainal- 20 and Kingsley Benson- 25 were also arrested and items recovered from them include generating set, sewing machine as well as sheets of zinc.

 One Rapheal Abel- 26 and Yusuf Abdulkareem- 20 were also arrested and sheets of zinc were recovered from them, a statement by Nigerian Army spokesman, Brigadier-General Texas Chukwu said. Meanwhile, the Taraba government has said that it no longer had confidence in the Federal Government security apparatus deployed to the state.

 The government's position was made known by the senior special adviser to the Taraba state governor on media and publicity, Dan Bala Abu who spoke to journalists on Friday, March 30.

 Abu said that although there was relative peace now in Taraba, the state government did not have confidence in the security apparatus of the Federal Government to maintain peace and security in the state.
