I beg to differ, prior to my making my own review about the phone, every comment tended to portray the device in a zero sum light in which a person who got it, had a perfect mid range phone.

I ain't over complaining, just trying to be objective and instituting same in this thread.

Henry is right

REDMI 5a wasn't built as a battery beast and Xiaomi did not promised a long lasting battery on it

So it's expected..

My 4A currently lasts me only for 6-7hours on heavy usage and I am not complaining because it's expected

The Pace is beautiful with a better software and more smooth to touch but not IP68 meaning, ordinary splash of water has a very high tendency to damage the device; but the Bip is IP68 proven. You can even swim a little with it grin plus, you don't need to charge it even after a week's usage.
I'm interested in the Bip because of it's rugged build.

Now, I understand. Hahaha grin

Sir I have a redmi 5a and I get solid 6 and half hours of screen on time. I have even gotten 7 hours and 40 minutes once, but that was mostly watching videos online and all. The battery is very good for the average Nigerian.
The charging time is also not that bad.. I use a Samsung fast charger that came with my galaxy note 4 (because the charger that came with the phone has just 1000mAh output) and it gets full in about 2 hours.

2hrs charge time for charge for almost 7hrs is screen time isn't okay by you?

try using it on 4g and you would understand what I mean;

as for the charging advantage, you got to thank Samsung big-time, as for me, any time I remember charging with its 3 hrs plus prospect, I weak

But really,in 2012 or so, I sold my Tecno P8 a thousand less than I bought it after 8 months or so of use, just because I have pimped the thing...the customization no be here, I told the guy he won't be able to use half of the features on the phone...I literally OWNED the phone, except the name on the device.

Guys please I wantu dieeeeee!!! Ah!!

This redmi 5 plus is the most beautiful phone I've ever used, by a distance sef!! Ahhhh!!

And I've used a lot of phones especially in the samsung line. I haven't used any of the new s8 or 9 series with the new display aspect but my friends have and this phone looks almost exactly as the s8 plus (bar the curved edge and the back).

From today if someone asks me how much I bought it... "oti 100 tousan and it's not in Nigeria bro, I had to order from abroad." See fine phone abeg and now I've updated to miui 9.5, I've removed the navigation buttons totally and am now claiming "it also has this immersive mode where you just swipe to go back and all bruh"

Combine it with my Chrooma keyboard that adapts it's color to the color of the app it's being used on...

Lmao. 4g is not a must for me o. My area gets 3G with speeds as high as 1.5mb per sec so what else am I looking for??

See yesterday I updated my redmi 5 plus miui to 9.5 and completed the 1.5gb download in less than 30 minutes even after the first 70% was mistakenly cancelled by me. Just because a phone comes with 4G capability doesn't mean I should go buy 4G sim for it (but that's my personal perspective sha)

For those enquiring, I applied for unlocking my devices bootloader and I got a positive response about in about 3 to 4 hrs. Note that i used my mtn line. I think the reason you put forward for requesting to unlock your bootloader also determines how fast a response you get. Xiaomi adviced against duplicating other another person s reason, so one should strive to be original and gv a good reason IMO
