This is not an article in a regular journal but part of a book series.Hence not for free to download. The book series are usually for sale and wont be opened with just institutional subscriptions.
Oh, I see. Thanks anyways, i appreciate the feedback. Guess i might have to buy it, if i don't get an alternative.

My Current Research: Highly Flexible Supercapacitor Fabrication for Energy Storage

The rapid increase in the global energy consumption and the environmental impact of traditional energy resources has led to tremendously increased research activities on clean and renewable energy sources recently. As these new energy forms are intermittent or regionally limited (e.g., water), there is a pressing need to develop advanced energy storage systems, such as supercapacitors, for efficient storage of electrical energy at all scales ranging from solar through wind farms to wearable electronics.

My team: Myself (Supervisor), 3 PhD students, 6 undergraduate students

Funding: Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and Cyprus Science University Campus Research Funding

Funding amount and duration: 10,000 USD (6 months timeline)

Electrode and Electrolyte Materials: Electrode materials will be fabricated from waste chewing gum and electrolyte from extracted cassava or irish potatoes.

Applications
The supercapacitor will be applied for energy storage in a small-scale in applications Including transport, stationary, flexible, wearable and micro-supercapacitors.

Publication: Outcome will be published in quality Journals of Power sources, Energy Chemistry etc and presented at international conferences.

Interested in Supercapacitor??

A supercapacitor is a device that can store a large amount of energy, typically 10 to 100 times more energy per unit mass compared to ordinary capacitors. It is preferred to batteries owing to its faster and simpler charging, and faster delivery of charge.

Wow..Nice one Boss..I work on the other side of the isle(batteries and ion pumping techniques). At the moment I am using dynamic multi frequency analysis in studying the kinetics of reversible insertion of cations with the aim of extracting kinetic parameters that can be used to optimise existing technologies based on the reversible insertion of cations.

It will be interesting to study kinetics of your electrode materials using dynamic multi frequency analysis (DMFA). I m currently looking for opportunities to spend time in a laboratory outside my base (For the CV) and also to apply DMFA to other systems.

PM sent.

All the best!

There are bunch of research areas in computer science and computer engineering, however, you will be fine and competitive if you can direct your focus on the emerging research areas in computer science. Below are some of the interesting areas that is researchable in any clime you find yourself:

Emerging Research Areas in Computer Science/Engineering

1. Data Mining and Geographical Information Systems (GIS): Research in this area explores efficient storage and visualization of data for analysis and pattern discovery. You may direct your focus toward anomaly and pattern detection, spatial and scientific data mining for application domains like transportation, bioinformatics, cyber security, and smart sensor networks.

2. High Performance and Cloud Computing Security (Hot topic actually): Research in this area explores the development and analysis of parallel algorithms for distributed or multiprocessor systems. You may look at energy-aware cloud computing, Data and infrastructure security auditing in cloud computing environments and Vehicular cloud computing (will be very nice research area).

3. Robotics, Embedded systems and Artificial Intelligence (I am a chemist but I know this very well and I teach it as an undergrad course in my uni, I use the AI for drug, toxin detect etc): Several research here fall under the general umbrella of AI. Lot of hot research areas in computer vision, computational biology, and e-commerce and probabilistic language models for use in spoken language interfaces and motor information. Embedded systems are just so emerging that almost all countries need it these days: You can research: wearable computers, body sensor networks, intelligent sensory devices and deeply embedded wireless sensor systems.

4. Bioinformatics and Computational Biology: Research in this area explores the use of computational methods to better categorize, visualize, and model biological data and systems. This you have to work with medical, biology and health related units and AI can be incorporated.

and how can one find funding for his research as a student who has already started his Phd programme.

All above research does not require special funding. You just need your computer skills, data and start working. When you publish something great and developed unique products you will get sponsors. For instance, in 2015: I designed magnetic nanomaterials that can selectively extract valuable materials from the sea and was targeting boron. After publishing 3 papers on that, I applied for Funding to Turkish Govt and I got 65,000USD, you can see all my work after then I have to report that this is sponsored by TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) see one of my attached papers.

#Note: to get funding, it may require that your research area has potential, will solve problems and you might have demonstrated via publication. You may consult companies like google that fund research with potential, some pharmaceuticals that may be interested in case you are working on bioinformatics, some electronic companies in case you are working on embedded systems etc.

Also, look at various research grants provided by TWAS: twas.org/opportunities/research-grants ensure you check the eligibility and other details.

Best wishes!

Wow that's quite an interesting research you got. I have not used DMFA for kinetics of batteries before but I have good standard experience with short-time Fourier transformation (STFT) for kinetics of batteries. Also, I have known a friend that works lot on dynamic impedance spectroscopy using DMFA and currently he is on loan to NASA.

May I ask, which type of batteries you work on and Have you worked on magnesium rechargeable batteries before? I likely gonna get a fund for MRB..

grin grin grin Ahhh yes is quite good to test the charge and discharge abilities of the brain of our doctoral students tongue tongue...that way they can learn.

Is really nice you work on most of those cathode materials and I kinda like sol-gel anyway than Flame spray.

Magnesium rechargeable batteries (MRB) are emerging as an attractive candidate for energy storage due to safety, high volumetric
energy density and scalability.

For the MRB cathode: I am looking at some simple biopolymeric materials such as polypyrrole ( I will be doping the organic materials with halogens), PVDF-HFP and ternary mixed metals oxides, and most importantly some MOFs...if time permits silicates based transition metals.

In the project: the intention is to embed the MRB into an hybrid smart grid and link it to energy management system. It will be test run in a small cattle farm.

Good day,

There lots of reputable journals in various field and you can publish in any field. Just google springer journals, elservier journals, Taylor and & Francis etc when you get to their journal select the field that align with you and you can read the "Guide to author" to see what they need and you can format your manuscript accordingly.

Equatorial Research Journals: unfortunately their journals are not indexed in academically acceptable databases and specifically not on web of science. For now, I can say they are not quality and I won't publish there but as start to academic publication for many is a good platform to start with. But you can submit your manuscript hence forth to reputable journals just search those publisher I listed above. Worth of academics are evidenced in the quality of their publication not just publish anywhere.

Yes you can publish your textbook: springer, Taylor and Francis and elservier also publish books. However, they only take well written, competitive work and unique.

Meanwhile, there are some publisher that can also work with your manuscript not as competitive as those mentioned above. Check out scholarpress.

Best wishes

I was declined of a PhD admission in USA about six weeks ago.

Two Weeks ago, a professor Chair from THESAME UNIVERSITY but different faculty e mailed me to apply for a PhD in his department, that he is waiving my application fee.that I should just fill the attached form.
Few hours later I saw that the prof has linked my file to the application and complete the application for me.
He told me that the faculty has fund but he didn't say specifically if I would be funded.
Please house what is my chance of being admitted?
Out of 100percent,what is my chance??

I have not heard back from the same university About the admission decision.
Please house kindly advise me.
Thanks.

Out of 100 percent, your chances of being admitted is 1-99%. There is no way anybody here can know your chances since admission and funding do have criteria and if you meet those then you will be admitted. Kindly wait for the university and you can also apply to another universities as you are waiting.

Meanwhile, majority of rejection letter do carry reasons for rejection. If the reason for your rejection is based on funding and the new department said they have funding then there some chances. But if your rejection is based on not meeting the entry academic requirements, then even they have funding you will still be rejected. All applicants need to first satisfy minimum admission requirement, graduate institute requirements and departmental requirements.

Dear O

The Admissions Committee of the Ph.D. Program in Biomedical Sciences at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of........... has completed its review of your application.

As a result of the large number of applications that we received this year in combination with the limited number of openings that we had available, admission to the program this year was even more competitive than is the case in more typical years. As a result, we were not able to accept a number of very qualified students who applied for entry into this year’s class. In that regard, it is with great regret that I must inform you that your request for admission into the program for the Fall semester of 2018 has been declined.

You may wish to consider enrolling in a Master’s Degree program, which would provide you a sophisticated research experience and would enable you to experience graduate level coursework, both of which could strengthen your application to Ph.D. programs. I encourage you to consider options for master’s-level study in the biomedical sciences; please visit our website for more information: http:/Most programs are still considering applications for Fall 2018.

Thank you for your interest in the program at the University We wish you the best of success as you pursue your career goals.

Sincerely,

Terry

Sincerely,

Terry

You currently don't have master degree. MBBS is an undergraduate degree not master degree. In most universities, PhD is by research and required you to have certain level of research experiences and documented evidence of communicating research results via publication and reputable conferences.

Also, biomedical sciences is research based program which you may not have acquired such level of research during your undergraduate level. Some very few universities admitted undergraduate students directly into PhD Program if they have excellent result and the university will then load them core courses and some research prior to the PhD Proper.

In brief: you were rejected cos you have no research experience at a graduate level and the program does not or will not admit bachelor degree for now as there were more qualified candidates possibly with master degrees or even PhD competing for limited slots.

Hello great scholars in the house. Please I want to write my PhD in Accounting proposal, I am considering something related to Environmental Accounting Reporting and Disclosure. Please has any one done anything related to the topic before.

Also, this new Voluntary Asset and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS), is there any way it can be linked to tax avoidance/evasion.
Thank you

Hello great scholars on the forum, please I require collaborative support to achieve my PHD quest. I am a Phd candidate, due to age and some other constraints I am considering PhD by publication in a UK university. Based on this I have been mandated to have at least 3 co authorship journals and 2 single for application consideration.

PhD is in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. With research focus on effect of Sharing economy on SME and Entrepreneurial growth with focus on artisans in developing economies.

I hereby through this forum seek for co- authorship in a reputable international journal, from any one who is interested in this topic. My options are also open to book chapters authorship.
