I was previously using my Xampp server on Windows 8 before i changed to Windows 7.

When i tried installing Xampp on my Windows 7, i got the alert on the screenshot attached below.

After the installation when i try starting the Apache i got " The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer"

I have granted permission to the Xampp server from my firewall but still not functioning.

Is the problem from my windows installation?

try to download the missing file or you download lower version of xmapp that will be compatible with win 7

Download Download Visual C++ Redistributable or do a full system update.

It's most probably because of missing visual c++ package. Download the latest visual c++ and try again. If problem persist, try a lower version of xampp. And if problem persist go for wamp.

I have downloaded and installed Microsoft visual c++ 2018 redistributable yet it's still showing the same problem.

This should be because you have two windows account on your computer. Try and login as an administrator and run xammp again.

Do you have Skype? If yes please remove.
If after removing Skype and Xampp refuses to run, try running it as administrator (Right Click>> Run as Administrator).
If it still fails, open with compatibility mode(Right Click>>Troubleshoot Compatibility mode)

Also here are all my programs attached including UC browser just to know if any of them can cause this issue.

Lol you windows users its written right there you installed it in a secured place so because of permission it won't work uninstall and install to the C drive.

Why not try wamp I remember xampp gave me issues but I use Linux and is much more saner than these try wamp and install to C also.

If it still persist then you need to really upgrade to windows 8

Guys, I install Windows 8 and it came with the visual c++ redistributable 2008 to 2015.

I didn't install the xampp in the program files folder in the C: directory rather I created a xampp folder in the main C: ( but I also tried this on Win 7 ultimate and it didn't work).

I think the problem was from the Windows 7.

Uninstall xammp
1. Turn on windows update (make sure u have data) let ur computer perform an update.
2. Download and install visual c++ for 2013, 2014, 2015. Windows update may download and install everything for you it depends on microsoft's CDN.
3. When you are done, reboot.
4. Start a fresh install of xammp.
5. Check d ports of mysql and apache , make sure they are not d same else you'll have issues.
6. It shld work by now.

I did all this and it did not work.

Did you actually check the port for apache and mysql ?

You have a program running the same port with xammp thats why it wont work.
Check ur modem software and see if they are not on the same port with xammp

Ports are usually 4 digits.
Try 9201; 8080; 81
