Ben Murray-Bruce, senator representing Bayelsa east constituency has blasted the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,Garba Shehu, for calling Nigerians lazy fellow.

Garba Shehu had said only lazy Nigerians complained of hunger.

Reacting, Ben Bruce said Nigerians are not lazy but jobless as a result of high rate of unemployment in the country.

"What‘s wrong with the President’s spokesmen? First,they call Nigerians animals then this? Is this fellow aware that almost 9 million Nigerians lost their jobs in the last 3 years? It‘s not that Nigerians are lazy. They want to work, but where are the jobs?".

Yeah the specific figure may be difficult to affirm, how the fact remains that a lot of people lost their job. In Kogi State alone, over 5000 staff were laid off, First bank sacked over 300 staff and so on. I know of about 10 people that lost their jobs and I can confirm that they are not lazy. Jobs lost in Nigeria during Buhari's era as a result of poor economic management amounts to millions.
