I'm very sorry to say this but the truth must be told.
Every food from the Northern part of Nigeria that you won't cook before eating is not guaranteed to have been prepared under good hygienic condition. And are dangerous to your health.

1. Sometime years back a junior brother who traveled far North came across where Kundi meat is processed and he the sight was horrible. He said they dry those meat in the sun and you need to come and see maggots crawling in and out of the meat. It is after they were thoroughly dried and those.things die that they we see them presentable here.

2. I have witnessed the processing of Kilichi myself and I can say categorically that it is done under extremely poor hygiene. I need to take the pics and post them here one of these days. It is done at Ojurin Bodija in Ibadan. The meats are dried in the sun too on mats and you need to see the multitude of flies on them and the worst is the lizards walk freely on them to eat the flies and of course they are free to poo on them. Since the first day I saw it I stopped eating Kilichi and Suya

3. Hausa Orange sellers
A lot of ppl must have seen this too. When the Hausa guys want to put the oranges on display they deep the oranges in soap water. They make the soap water Foaming and they make sure the foam is on the oranges and put them on their trays to dry up with the foam on it.
I don't know why they do these , may be to make the oranges easy to peel. But do they care about the side effect on ppl? No!

So think twice before you eat anything done by our brothers from the North.
