I doubt that prices went down unless you were quoted inflated prices before. Read up on some of the latest postings by AlCopacetic

If you care.

Be very sure quality wires were quoted, because the use of sub-standard wires is a major cause of fire outbreak in buildings.

I'm talking about compared to what the prices were like when dollar was almost 500 last year. Prices did go down and I'm working directly with the factory so no need for middle man

Goo dmove I think.

Dantoge doesn't have a monopoly and we should always exercise free trade with our money.

If I may ask, what are you going to sue for? What were your damages?

Trying to learn.

Please don't use too much big English I beg when you explain, I'm just a humble boy from one kind Ibadan village grin
Very true Chief @ the Bolded. But they seem to have a Monopolistic influence on what is supposedly a free Market and this is very bad for the industry and consumers. What else would give them the gals to implement such bad bussiness policy.
I would like to think that once you make payment for goods and you're issued a receipt then it is binding on the company to provide you the goods you were issued a receipt for.
Unless the T& C indicate that they have the right to withdraw thier offer at any time or effect a price change without prior notice, which I seriously doubt.

During the Dollar-nightmare regime , COLEMAN would always pass a circular to distributors on intended price increase to allow us stock up on Cables to the extent of available stock and up to an effective date. This would minimize losses on the distributors side ( because you would otherwise have to replace stock at a higher cost than your selling price) and also help buffer the price increase shock on the market.

I see both sides of the issue, I really do.

As a business owner too I understand this is wher signed contracts come into play.

Is there a clause in there somewhere that says

“Seller retains the right to adjust price on merchandise that hasn’t been loaded”

We don’t know because we haven’t seen the contract.

Maybe they haven’t bagged the cement yet and the price took effect at a certain timeframe.

Chekitaut, na beg I beg you Sir post the sales contract grin

Your narrative above should apply in sane business environment and companies that have intergrity entrenched in their mission statement . What we have these days are companies that would rather impoverish their franchisee in periods of price arbitrage and when sales are going south they force their product on you when competition are selling at a lower price and expect you tell at prices slightly higher than competition .

My Oga, i never chop belle full na case i wan do? Olorun maje oooo in D'banj voice.

Just painful to know that immediately Dangote add N50 Lafarge follow suit...

I am sorry to say, this is the 'typical Nigerian mentality'... the way Fela Anikulapo Kuti put it (Suffering and Smiling Album).

I am even more disappointed in your Lawyer, who should be championing your cause, on a "'Prono Bono" (No Win, No fee) basis.

What is expensive in filling a case at the High Court, against Dangote, for breach of contract?
How much does a filling cost (less than #5,000!) when you already have a Lawyer on ground?

And to think that you are the complainant/plaintiff and Dangote will be the defendant, worse case, they will "settle you out of court", knowing that they have no case. You get paid, your Lawyer also gets paid.

But when everyone is even afraid to 'make a move', even when it is obvious they cannot lose, how then will their rights not get trampled upon and their abusers get away with it?
Ordinary people are too concerned with daily bread, even when that daily bread is unjustly taken away from them, they will still say "let me look for another one, that one is taken away (there is always a ready-made excuse, not to fight for their rights) .... instead of fighting to get it back!
Some so called "exposed" will even concur with you, despite all their shakara about America and the liberty they have there, talk of speaking from both sides of the mouth. grin grin

Well, what l dont want or like is VICTIMS LAMENTING.... when they can and should have been taking some LEGAL ACTION. Even banding together and taking Class Action is an option
But then, if your Lawyer, a supposed trained legal mind, is already discouraging you by sowing "fear of non-existing expenses" in your mind, what do we expect?

Nigeria is not a shit-hole, most of the people are shit-heads. grin grin undecided

God bless Gani Fawehinmi, in his grave.

The prices will definitely change after you pay mobilization fees and work commences.... unless you are buying them and straight from the merchant.

It is the oldest trick in the book: Underquotation (price & materials especially if the owner is a penny-pincher) to secure a contract and then come with long stories after you have committed some funds. At that point you are at a point of no return and at the mercy of the artisan.

This picture is despicable, this goes to show the level of decadence in the society, how can meters be hung on electric poles.the distribution companies and installers if these meters lack foresight by just risking the lives of their staffs , all in a bid to prevent people from tampering with the meter necessitated this move.

Why can't they just erect a structure/base where all the meter can be placed and locked to avoid tampering by subscribers
