In the first week of May 2016, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) announced that Nigerian telecom operators had one month to start implementing the ‘Do-not-Disturb’ (DND) code.Source: https://prexblog.com/telecoms-will-start-paying-n500000-for-sending-you-adverts-and-unsolicited-messages/ |

Paying the fine to NCC is unfair. 50% of that money ought to be paid to subscribers who suffer from the unsolicited messages. Unless that is done, this is not a welcome development. How can I be disturbed by messages while NCC gets 500k? |

They now send messages right after receiving a call, rather than cut the call, you end up mistakenly clicking yes and subscribing to an unbeneficial cause.. |

This is long overdue. These rubbish telcos just take people for granted, especially MTN. Imagine, after setting up the DND on my line, the flood of messages actually increased. When I made a voice call to complain, they were telling me stories. In fact, the fine should be increased to 1 million. Nonsense! |
