I've heard several times about how opera max helps save data on phones. I have installed and uninstalled that app more than 6 times due to my inability to understand its actual mechanism for data saving. Does that thing really work? Do u use it? 1 Like 1 Share |

For me, I use it to monitor my data usage and it's pretty cool. It gives a run down of the data usage of apps for the day, month and all time. |

the opera max app really works and it conserves your data for you. immediately you swith on your phone in the morning just connect the opera max app b4 any other app. I watch videos on YouTube, play online games on my phone and my data still dey gallant like soldier. |

I have had it for about 6 months. I used it yesterday and disconnected after some minutes because it seemed to slow my network down. Okay, it might not really slow it down but after I connected, browsing became slow and immediately I disconnected, the speed came back (cant blame me for blaming the app) so I disconnected it. It is still on my tab though, I will try it again some other time 3 Likes |

By passing every page you request for through an Opera dedicated server where compression is made, it reduces the size of that page that gets to your phone. It might however seem slower because of this extra route. No I don't use it. When you have 10GB for N2500, the time you spend waiting would be more valuable to you than data saving. 10 Likes |

Opera-mini is actually good in data economy; definitely opera-max should conserve data especially with airtel. |

Why have such an app? After telling you how much data you have used, are you going to stop browsing? 1 Like |

Opera saves data by compressing Web pages. When you click on any site, opera uses their server to open the site and send the webpage back to your phone in a compressed format. This reduces the cumulative data (mb) that would initially have been exhausted. Do you understand? 1 Like |
