How I Will Tackle Problems Of Insecurity, Power If Elected President - Sowore by IRIEBOY(op): 10:07am On Apr 13, 2018
A presidential aspirant in the 2019 general elections
and convener of #Take Nigeria Back Movement,
Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has promised to tackle the
challenges of insecurity, poor electricity supply and
decrepit infrastructure confronting the country
frontally if he is elected as Nigeria’s president in
2019.Sowore, who has been going around the
northern part of the country in the past couple of
days spoke during a chat with journalists in Abuja.
A presidential aspirant in the 2019 general elections
and convener of #Take Nigeria Back Movement,
Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has promised to tackle the
challenges of insecurity, poor electricity supply and
decrepit infrastructure confronting the country
frontally if he is elected as Nigeria’s president in
2019.
Sowore, who has been going around the northern
part of the country in the past couple of days spoke
during a chat with journalists in Abuja.
The 47-year-old aspirant said he has already
encapsulated the priority of his government which
was derived from a survey on prorities of Nigerians
into the acronym, 'SPICER.'
According to him, 'SPICER' is an acronym for
Security, Power, Infrastructure, Economy and
Restructuring.
He said he had also identified other top priorities of
Nigerians, encapsulated in HE, meaning Health and
Education.
“We actually revealed in Ibadan that we have in
place what we called 'SPICER' and it encompasses
our priorities, the priorities of Nigerians based on
our survey, internally and externally. So, we are
going to handle and tackle security first because we
have to stop the blood shedding that is going on in
this country which is not limited to what the
herdsmen are doing, but what armed robbers can do
in a place like Offa where they just shoot and killed
50 people with no policeman showing for hours.
So, security is a major issue for us.”
On how his government will tackle the seemingly
intractable problem of power supply, the
presidential said he will be innovative in his
approach while vowing to do away with corruption
ridden approach Nigerian past leaders have
unsuccessfully adopted to solve the problem.
According to him, adoption of appropriate energy
mix offers the quickest way out of darkness for
Nigerians: “This idea of having electricity is also
priority for us. We are not saying we want to
provide electricity, like they have done in the past
where they award contracts to themselves which is
not to provide power but to increase darkness. We
are working on an energy mix.
He cited the example of Tunisia which is exporting
power generated from solar to countries like Malta,
France and other European countries.
He said, “We don’t need to dig the ground too
much, we just bring in solar panels, we assemble
them and we hook them up to grids. If you go to
Enugu today, there are still untapped coal, even
though I am not a big fan of coal because of
environmental implications, but we can still use it
because even the U.S as advanced as it is, 10
percent of its power is sourced from coal.”
He also said there is the need to clean up Ogoni
land to be able to reach and tap from its gas
reserves.
He attributed the country's inability to solve its
power problem to incursion of cabal who are
benefiting from the epileptic nature of electricity in
the country.
He said, “There are some people in government
whose fulltime job is to sabotage any progress
because they are selling generators. President
Buhari came with a promise to end their activities,
but instead they have become more embedded in
his government. They are the one we call the Cabal
and that is why they are running a ‘Cabalocracy’
instead of a democracy.”
He also promised that his administration will
provide infrastructure with less funds than being
stolen and taken to other countries now.

PDP has zoned the presidency to the core north. It is mission impossicant for any core northerner to win Buhari. Only a revolution can send Buhari back to Daura.

We shall match with Sowore and use our PVC's as our weapons of liberation. Sowore 2019

Nigeria is growing at 0.8 per cent, and you are proud of our economic growth.

As rice importation has reduced in Nigeria, the Neighboring Benin Republic has become one of the highest importers of Thailand's rice.

We currently have the highest number of people on earth living in extreme poverty.

Buhari has to seek treatment in England because our health facilities are so poor.

The minimum wage is less than 19 thousand, which equates to 1.75 dollars per day.

As poverty rises, insecurity rises to meet it.

Mass illiteracy leads to mass procreation. We are now close to 200 million people.

Raising income inequality

Herders versus farmers

Back to Daura.

The question I keep asking people is "what's their excuse for not Supporting Sowore?"
If you are against the old cargos who have enjoyed their time, enjoyed ours and still trying to enjoy our children's Sowore is the guy to support.
If you are against the modern politicians that are always in power (if PDP wins half of APC will move in and vice versa) Sowore represent everything opposite of those.
If you are against politicians who use religion and ethnicity to further divide for their selfish interest He's your guy.
Whatever the case we know he'd never appoint former chairmen of APC/PDP as his cabinet members.

this guy is sound. one of the reason why i wholly support presidential debate. come out and tell us your dreams and vision for the country. if acquiring a PhD requires you to do research and present papers and proposals for your supervisors to vet. How much more taking the reins of leadership in an entire country. Now i know i why advance countries insist on a debate for their public office holders in other for the electorate to vet them.

The biggest reason for insecurity is poverty. If poverty is reduced, insecurity will also decline. To reduce poverty, Sowore says he would focus on H for Health and E for Education. A healthy man is a wealthy man. Providing well-equipped primary health centres across the nation will ensure that poorer families receive proper healthcare. Also, Education is key in developing skills that improve one's earning capability.

Sowore also has what he called SPICER, which stands for Security, Power, Infrastructure, Economy and
Restructuring. Madam jumps into the Sowore train. Do not get left behind.

Not an American diasporan youth with an interest in Nigeria's development.

He is tired of people looking down on him because he is originally from a Third World country.

Whatever achievement he accomplishes elicits shock that a black man can achieve something. Whenever he fails, his failure is attributed to the colour of his skin.

All he wants is to be proud of his nation. He wants to lift his head with pride and say he is Nigerian. For his children not to be ashamed of their fatherland. Is this too much of him to ask for

I don't know why some people will keep clamouring for failed politicians to plan for future they will not be part of
Anybody who thinks Buhari or any other politicians who have ruled and ruin should be part of the future of this country should have his head examine.
Re: How I Will Tackle Problems Of Insecurity, Power If Elected President - Sowore by MrRichmond: 6:04pm On Apr 13, 2018
I like that this guy is talking about how he plans to achieve his promises, which is something Nigerian politicians don't do...
They just promise without any concrete plan!
The famous "I'll turn N1 to $1" comes to mind..
However, his SPICER plan isn't very comprehensive.
How would the solar panels be set up, is it the government that will own it or private companies?
will he setup solar farms across Nigeria?
how will he ensure that corruption doesn't defeat the purpose of the program?
Also more importantly, why isn't restructuring the number one priority in his plan? When has been identified as the main issue causing marginalization of the 5%?
If he wants to get the support of the so called 5% he must restructure the SPICER plan!!

Nigeria has one of the lowest tax-to-GDP ratios on earth and one of the highest income inequality between the rich and poor. Sowore said his aim is to redistribute wealth. My expectations are that he would raise taxes on the rich, such as their estates and vehicles. He would also reduce government leakages, as there are still many ghost workers in the system. Finally, he may restructure the media to reduce redundancy and inefficiency in the system. All these would raise government revenue.

As for IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu's main issue was the lack of development and poverty in the southeast. If you see how furnished and equipped public primary and secondary schools are in England, you will understand why Nnamdi decided to separate the east from the rest of the country.

Even in Boko Haram, the leaders of these sorts of groups are usually Mad Men. However, The followers are generally poor and hungry, searching for a better life. Elimination of poverty and the introduction of quality education will drastically reduce the expansion of terrorism in Nigeria.

Finally, none of our past leaders have ever been serious about developing Nigeria. I say this boldly because to create a country, you must tax the citizens to raise funds. Tope Fasau of ANRP explained that if a barrel of crude is sold at 60 dollars, the profit on that barrel is only 45 dollars. This 45 is shared between the IOCs and Nigeria. So, Nigeria receives about 22 dollars on each barrel of crude. Considering an iPhone costs 600 dollars, Nigeria costs about 27 barrels of oil to purchase 1 iPhone. Oil money is just not enough. Our leaders realize they would have to pay the highest amount of tax and, at the same time, would have to account for how they spend our taxes, so they have been reluctant to tax Nigerians.

ACN taxes people in the southwest, which is why Lagos and Ogun are leaving the rest of the country behind. Our past governments wanted Nigeria to be like America and copied many things, such as our bicameral legislative branch and presidential system, yet they failed to copy America's tax system.

We can be sentimetal or try cook it the way we deem fit that dont mean Nigeria will get better
To face facts is to restructure the country
We either go back to regional government or even take a bolder step of breaking up the country .
Up north they want sharia that not because of poverty
After losing 3 million plus of their people the call for Biafra is still here and trust me is never going to go away just like the call for islamic state up north.
The time to stop and listen to all this calls is now.
