Yes, Saudi awarded him not for materialism but for his religious knowledge, dawah and conviction. The people who refused to meet him when he was invited for a conference in Saudi was Sheikh Bin Baz(ra) and the likes over "aqeeda issue" according to Bin Baz. Here we are today, he claimed aqeeda issue. But today, you see Middle East in mess bcus of his fatwa in favor of foreign troops and his kings. Yet, he claimed aqeeda issue. Allah forbids what he did. This is called LOVE of Allah(swt), His messanger(saw) and His awliya(ra).

Such love is not restricted at all. It is the same type of love that Jesus, the son of Mary(as) has for nabi Muhammad (saw) in spiritual realm, is the reason he called him Ahmad as Qur'an says in sura 61:6.

When you love someone you name the person a beloved name to you. There is no bound to it and of course, not bidah love. Is there anything called "bidah love"?. I don't think so. When you love someone the person becomes part of you. But those who have disease in their heart have animosity for the Sheikh Niass(ra) because of their ignorance or schism. He died 43 years ago. Anytime one person hates him, their hate is replaced with 1000 more love for him.
