Weldone!

I don't think there is an answer in the options
As I got 1.47×10-² as a final answer

density (d) = mass/volume(v)

but the mass is constant.

d × v = K.

d × v = D × V.

the lower case letters represent the initial substance
the upper case letters represent the final substance.

V = dv/D

but we know that..

cubic expansivity (¥) = (V - v)/v∆T.

sub..

¥ = (dv/D - v)v∆T

¥ = (d/D - 1)/∆T.

¥ = (d - D)/D∆T.

(d - D)/D = ¥∆T.

∆d/d = (49 × 10^-5 × 30)

∆d/d = 0.0147

C is correct

mass of metal block = 0.2Kg

Temperature of metal block ∅1= 150°C

Temperature of calorimeter ∅2= 27°C

Final temperature of the mixture ∅ = 40°C

Volume of water in the calorimeter = 150 cm³

Mass of water in the calorimeter = volume × density

= 150 × 10^-6m³ ×10³kgm-³

= 150 × 10^-3 kg

Water equivalent of calorimeter = 0.025 kg = 25 × 10-³kg

Using the formula,

Q = mc∆∅

Q1 = m1c( ∅1 - ∅2)

= 0.2 × c × ( 150 - 40)

= 22c

Heat taken by calorimeter and water

Q2 = (150 × 10-³+ 25 × 10-³)×c2 ×(40-27)

Q2 = 175 × 10-³× 4.2 × 10³ × 13

Recall, specific heat capacity of water is 4.2

Q2 = 175 × 4.2 × 13

Q1 = Q2

22c= 175 × 4.2 × 13

c = [{175 × 4.2 × 13} /22]

c = 434 J/kg-K

In j/g/k, c=434/1000

c = 0.434j/g/k

How can I know if the post-utme is out? I hope their website will tell, but I don't want to rely on it only.
Is there a whatsapp group to connect to us together?

A man went to a market to buy a donkey..To his surprise,the donkey was significantly less than other donkey...other donkey were sold at the rate of 30,000 naira but this particular donkey was sold for 200 naira...in his curiosity,the farmer asked why the donkey was sold at a cheaper rate..the owner said the reason is because the donkey knows a little bit of physics...the farmer gave it a try and bought the donkey...when the farmer took the donkey to the farm,he told it to carry a load of 40N..the donkey replied the farmer that he cannot because if the farmer understood Newton third law, he would knw that the load will exact equal and opposite force and the load won't move...the farmer was angry and said "why don't you increase the force then",the donkey replied that the load will also increase its force.....Assuming u are the child of the man and you understand physics,how can you convince the lazy donkey to move..

hello rumies, its been long i poke my nose here!cheesy
i need more information on this issue;
a friend of mine is currently in a state of confusion, she doesnt know which course to pick among the following;
physics,
statistics,
mathematics and geology. these are the only courses she can study as she is deficient in chemistry!
please, i want the bosses here to explain the pros and cons of each of the afore mentioned courses, so as to know which is best, thank you!
