I really don't know if that is the standard procedure, i am not a tiler.
But that was how they did mine, it was POP before tiles.
Just trying to share the little that i know.

You use grout
i saw a bathroom tiles that was done for a house in lekki
from the wall to the floor
the fool failed to grout that tile that came from the wall to the ground
where the wall tile and the ground tile met

You will have to find out the price in your area but in my area its a bag at #700.
Types of aggregate material determines the mix and preferred number.

On a general note (foundation stage/ sub-structure))
6" blocks(solid/hollow)------------30/35 blocks
9" blocks (solid/hollow)----------20/25 blocks


You can increase the number by +5 afterwards for after foundation stage.

It's not a standard procedure, it is common sense. A lot of folks can fix tiles but attention to details like that is what makes a good tiler to stand out.

6tyre falls between 10 -15 tons depending on bucket size and sand loading.
Dredging sand in my area in the lay man's terms does not really have "teeth".
So depending on your location and cost implication, some of us use "diving sand"(local mining).

Chief consider this, tile size I’d dependent on the room size and the illusion that you’re trying to create.

Are you trying to make a too big of a room look smaller or make a small room look bigger.

Any help would be appreciated. I received a list of electrical supplies to purchase, it contains "Nos" on most of the item. Like (Nos 15A socket) or (Nos water heater switch). Is this a brand or requirement?

I don't care really, I really need to cover 700sqm of internal floor and uniformly too with what supposed to be looking like smaller materials. Well, Although i have never thought of what you just said before.

If it were me I would

1) spend time looking on Houzz dot com, see what others have done from an international perspective.

2) spend time on Skimanski and RichYoungRuler threads to see what they did from a Nigerian perspective.

3) talk to you tile guy in detail to see what he needs to do a good job. Can he really handle 80x80, can his equipment cut it

I apologize if I’m making it too cumbersome but I’m anal like that.

You will see and use your floor every time you’re in the house.

Forget about the Nos. It should be a certain quantity, so they have to count how many you need. Its not a brand name but the type of item you need. Contact Allcopacetic here for his catalog for "what you see, is what you get". Get familiar with the item before your electrician get you banktrupt.

you have to consider space and design na. Like I said, it's all boils down to preference. If you want it plain and you have space to play with, then that will be fine.

And you seriously have to consider this too

Before I conclude he's trying to dupe you, everyone uses Nos (number). But he just has to put a certain number before the "Nos".

If he writes "12 nos of 15A switch Goodman brand" then it's fine.

You can even count all the switches you need in your house by yourself OR from your drawing OR buy the switches for him with 1 or 2 extras.

my eye for design is too top notch and i know this. i have come to realize that simplicity is the best form of creativity and design and this is the reason i dont mind using one kind of tiling to cover the whole space. (maybe) except for kitchen and toilet and bathroom because i would like an instance that the same design for floor tiles work with the tile design for the walls too.

thanks for your advice. i like it hot. i am on houzz and i already have told my 3d interior designer everything i want and how i like my interior to be. il rather start there and work it up to reality than designing in my head and hoping it comes out that way in reality. he is just the person i am waiting for then when i am talking to anybody who has to do something for me, we should all be on the same page given that they are also seeing what i am seeing and not an instance where i expect them to see what i am thinking. no offence il pass on those threads. those designs are too overcrowded, and heavy on my eyes.. most nigeria designers need to learn the use of colour combos and be smart in their designs..
