Suspected political thugs today attacked a member of the Rivers House of Assembly, Hon. Promise Chisom Dike of Oyigbo local government area of the state. The group of hoodlums set the lawmaker's SUV on fire after allegedly parking his car in front of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP office in Oyigbo.

According to information gathered, the attack was as a result of squabble between the attacked and a group of politicians ahead of the PDP election in the state.
