And this car is 10months on the platform, going to be a year in June 24th. I got the tok at 200k miles ,elantras are very strong cars engine wise. By May ending I will start using castrol full synethic oil imported from USA. Hope to get some more miles out of the car..

Well my experience with the car has been 50/50 .. Meaning at the start we kept changing parts.. Old management keep complaining.. So I don't know if they were buying the wrong parts o ... I don't know... but also keep in mind with cars.. The best cars out there is not bullet proof o.. Just because it is a corolla does not mean you should abuse the car... and most times it boils down to the driver.. If you take care of the car, the car will take care of you.. Use the correct parts for the car and follow the maintance a schedule.. And if you can find a mechanic that is an expert on kia cars, it will help you in the long run .. The A/C system of the elantra is top notch o , never had any issue at all .. I will still stick to the car, I have no regrets at all.. I also notice that in Lagos for every 5 corolla on the road, you will see three elantras, I was shocked o.. Even in the states now elantra is getting expensive to buy o . For now I will hold on till I see better deals .... The bottom line is I have no regrets at all, even gazzuz is now becoming an elantra fan.. The engine bay of the car is very spacious, easy for mechanic to work on.

American version is 2.0l engine. Dana motors Nigerian version is 1.6l and costs 600k for engine alone.

Sure...congrats. Uber reg takes about 5 mins online, after which u will write test, attend training, etc. All should be completed within a week.
Taxify also takes abt 5 mins for reg. You will inspect and then attend training. It takes less than a week.

Riders at LOS can request Uber when leaving the airport. Learn how to receive these trip requests and cash in on the action.
Rules and regulations

LOS regulations for Uber partners

Per LOS regulations, drivers must adhere to the terms below. Failure to do so may result in impoundments. Sorry, but Uber will not pay for citations regarding illegal parking or other non-Uber related fines.

All ride dropoffs and pickups must occur on the departures level
Avoid any inappropriate behaviour at the airport or anywhere in the city while online
Pickups at LOS

How pickup requests work

It's easy to receive trip requests from riders leaving the airport. However, these trips work a little differently than other requests. To receive a trip request at Murtala Mohammed Airport [LOS] (International and Domestic), you can wait in the car park you want to pick riders up from. You will automatically be added to the FIFO (First In First Out) queue for requests.

Uber partners may wait for ride requests at designated car parks at the airport. An automatic N400 will be added to your riders fare if you have a trip that starts from the airport area. Keep in mind that:

The lot is "first in, first out"; upon entering the staging line, you will be placed in line for the next trip request
There are only space for 100 vehicles at the airport waiting area. Should you arrive at the parking lot and see that it is full, we recommend leaving the airport
If you leave the staging lot or turn off your app, you will be placed at the back of the line
Car Parks

Uber driver-partners may wait for ride requests at the any of the available car parks. You will not receive an airport request outside of this lot.

Keep in mind:

The car park is "first in, first out"; upon entering the car park, you will be placed in line for the next trip request
If you do not receive a trip request in 30 minutes, we suggest to rather leave the airport area
If you leave the car park or turn off your app, you will be placed at the back of the queue
The parking fee for all three airports terminals is N400 for the first hour
You will be reimbursed the N400 parking fee if you pick a rider up from the airport. If you do not pick up a rider, or if you incur parking fees in excess of N400, you will not be reimbursed.
Designated pickup area at LOS

Uber users at the Lagos airport who request rides will be instructed to meet you at Level 1 Arrivals —a designated pickup area. To access this area, please stay in the right lane when entering the airport

Insurance is very very important for ridesharing, your car is your business, traversing the city making money for you. It only makes sense to protect that investment.
Uber announced its insurance policy for drivers, and the figures seem good.

Here are Uber’s insurance figures:
Medical expenses Up to NGN 2,250,000*

Ground ambulance Expenses NGN 20,000

Permanent disability (total or partial) Up to NGN 7,500,000

Death Up to NGN 7,500,000

Funeral Expenses NGN 100,000

Annual cost to partner NGN 0

*Medical expenses amounting to less than ₦10,000 are not covered.

But there is one fact that isn’t here, and that fact is very important.
Uber’s insurance only covers Period 2 and Period 3. Period 2 kicks off as soon as the driver accepts a ride request, all the way till when the driver picks the rider. Period 3 kicks off as soon as the rider enters your car.
These are the two periods you are covered for in Uber’s insurance policy for drivers.
This means that Period 1- which is when you are not online on the app or when you are online but don’t have a trip request yet- is intensely risky for Ride share drivers.

This is called the rideshare gap.
Any unfortunate event that happens during this period is not covered by Uber’s insurance.

Needless to say, it is extremely important to safeguard yourself and your vehicle from hazards that may occur as a result of driving around town ferrying passengers all day
Do not treat your Insurance with kid gloves, get a good cover, one that takes into cognizance your job as a rideshare partner-driver.
Taxi App Guy has done research into the best type of Insurance especially for Ride share drivers. I will be releasing an update next week on just this topic, where to get the best rideshare partner-driver insurance policy.
