My question is that with people spending up to 700k to 800k to leave nigeria and work in dubai, using a graduate as an example, will such person be able to make such money in a year or more, cos nobody is really telling anyone anything about payment and stuff and i notice everybody is taking the risk, but i need someone to pls break it down for a graduate willing to move to dubai in search for job and how much he can make in a year. Thanks

Vacancy for those kind of job you refer to mostly exist on the high end employment ladder.

The UAE is a technologically advance nation, they have gone far past the tech stage Nigeria is presently at.

As such your usual degree certificate (from your regular Nigerian school) is nearly practically useless as far as the mention categories of vacancy are concern.

Am sure you are aware Dubai itself is a smart city.

If you are onto jobs in IT, Engineering, Banking & Finance, Oil & Gas, Offshore stuffs etc, then be sure you are properly educationally certified in those field and possibly, with at least few years of working experience from recognised Nigerian institutions.

Question now is, if you do meet the requirements in the above paragraph, would you really be thinking of Dubai

You would probably (already) be gainfully employed.

If you are thinking Dubai (as as a West African immigrant), then be thinking MIDDLE & LOW level jobs. Forget the HIGH END juice.
If you have Oil and Gas experience, like Field operators, DD, Technician, etc. There are opportunities in UAE.

Minimum amount of money u can get for a job is 1200 dirham's that is if u r getting a labourer work. 1200 dirham's is lyk 110k in naira. From here u can use ur sense.

If I budget 800aed *.3 months = 2400aed For accommodation, how much can I budget for food, transport and other miscellaneous spending? I'll bring rice, egusi, noodles etc. Am I allowed to carry ayoola poundo? I don't eat eba and I'm scared since ayoola is white, they'll think it's cocaine
800aed is enough for accommodation and feeding for a month if you have supporting food stuff with you and know how to manage things. No need carrying rice, rice plenty here. carry your pando, no shaking. for transportation, it depends on how ur legs likes waka reach, 10 -15k per month will b ok if for buses n train but for cab, make ur pocket full. Then carry money for job ooooooooo. here if person wan give u ordinary Job info, they ask for agent fee (btw 50k - 800k) depending on job nature. Na only by God's grace you fit get job here free because most companies here now ask for money from job seekers. Good luck.

his process is the legit procedure but be sure he himself is legit even though I have a feeling you are dealing with a trusted person.

It's prolly a 90 days visit visa.

500k for a 2 years visa is false.
prolly a 90 days visa which I still find 500k rather too expensive for.
conclusion: be on the alert

I bless the name of the almighty God who made today possible. I want to specially appreciate the creator and the good people of this thread who take out time to share, post information and help people out .My journey to dubia was not without its upheaval but I thank God it was worth the effort.
I came in October last year. I tried my best in combing all parts of dubai for invites, walk in interview, cv submission and online drill but none yielded AS and WHEN anticipated.
Went for visa change in mid january and the search continues not giving up (though financially and emotionally, I was illiquid). Fast forward to March 5th, I got a call for an interview and alas i resumed the next day! I met my boss in person a week after resumption and he explicitly gave the terms of the contract; a(that all intending staff must go( and by confirmation from staffs, it is the norm for all nationalities there) for visa change after which he will consider doing employment visa. b(that he will observe for a month before giving a conditional offer letter), c(that he won’t be financially committed to my visa change)
I became very worried with all these conditions given I was qualified for the job. I consulted friends and from these platform also( the igwe himself and leo). It became a decision between the devil and the deep blue sea.
I finally opted to giving it a short, and was still applying online. A week after, I told my boss that the conditions doesn’t favor me that I want to leave. He said that’s the modus operandi here, either I am down or I take a walk. Then, I became so worried but stayed.
I never discussed again with my boss on this, neither did he too. Until on the day the accountant informed me I would be going for my medicals the next day….. Apparently my employment visa has been applied and approved prior to my tourist expiration. And while signing my offer letter, my job offer blows my mind (well above what I bargained). Other staffs are still in awe that I did not go for the ritual visa change of the company. All this could only have been God. My special thanks to my sister for her unflinching support. Big shout out to Nattybanta and Leosir for their support .

N.B : I want to encourage someone out there, that your dream is possible if you are resilient, strong at heart and believe in God .

Never rely on friends for financial support. Do come prepared!!!!

Stay blessed All.

This is a bed space settings

Whereby the owner of the room would sublet the bed spaces as shown in the pics between 500-750AED per bed to make up for the cost of the whole room and utility costs. which might be 5000aed in total.

PS: Accommodations are more expensive in Dubai than other Emirates

Its just like a Self Contain as we call it in Nigeria.
Ranges between 4000 aed and above in Dubai
and about 2000 aed and above in other Emirates.

I believe its worth it if you get any job above 1000aed or even anykind of job.

lets say u r paid 1000aed Monthly which is about 97,000Naira. you would have made 1,164,000 Naira at the end of the year.
lets say u r paid 1500aed Monthly which is about 145,500Naira. you would have made 1,746,000 Naira at the end of the year.
lets say u r paid 2000aed Monthly which is about 194,000Naira. you would have made 2,328,000 Naira at the end of the year.
lets say u r paid 2500aed Monthly which is about 242,500Naira. you would have made 2,910,000 Naira at the end of the year.

PS: There are ppl here earning above 10,000 aed monthly so don't limit yourself to jobs of 1000aed always aim high.

So you have to think about it wisely.
