You will fill a new ds160 afresh for you to correct it and make sure you go back to your appointment page and insert the new ds160 code that is generated for you so that on the day of your interview you wont be sent back home and ask to go and rectify that and come back another day

Thanks, I figured that out too. Thank God i hadn't book an appointment as at when i realized the mistake. So i am still good to go!

Morning Guys. I must tell you all that i deserve a very hot slap this morning . What i did today was very stupid .

Can you guys believe i carried the wrong DS 160 form, which was a previous form which i filled and made some corrections to the embassy today . The CGI lady gave me a white paper which states that i should reschedule with the correct ds160 form after 3 working days . Now coming back home going through the papers on my bed i found the correct ds160 form .

I am so confused i need help. What are the implications of this stupidity on my path? How soon can i get another date if as i have been told to reschedule after 3 working days? Should i call the embassy and notify them of this ?

Please i am begging you guys from my soul. I need responses !!! I need help.

I will even appreciate insults and scolding because i need it seriously . I was on the queue today helping people out with how to arrange their own documents and unknowingly to me, i just made a grave mistake with mine . Pls help

Just follow the CGI lady instruction and do as she instructed you if not you will end up loosing the visa fee.

Right now you can do what she asked you to do until the appointment clear from your page and she will report your case and they will just give you an opportunity to book again..

Calm down. Anxiety was the cause dude. You can reschedule on the appointment web page. All the best.

It doesn't work this way you suggested. Let her follow the CGI lady advise because she will give report back about his/her case and they will open her visa fee reference code for him/her to use schedule another visa interview appointment

Yes the rules states that you can leave your country a month to you resumption date but just a month and with your calculation it can't work because you end up spending more than one month

“The conversation was ok. Whilst some people will come and analyze the many things they believe is wrong with your transcript. From experience I have come to realize getting a visa is most likely an issue of discretion of the VO, and luck as well. It wasn’t your day. Don’t let nobody tell you it’s about the fact that you ain’t married or have kids blah blah blah. I’ve seen people will better or worse profile get denied or approved accordingly. This is not to say preparation is not necessary. But again a lot of indices come into play Before getting a US visa. Prayer is the key. My 2 cents.”

No one can say what documents will be asked for but carry along whatever will make you confident knowing you have covered all angles and handled your shi.

Better you aren't asked for it than you are asked and cannot provide the documentation to back up your claims.

Prayer is the key to what?

@oga Twood, You either have everything working for you or you've never gone out here to get anything done in Naija, else you won't marvel at why God, Prayer, religion is huge business in Nigeria.
Here everything depends on God.
You want to make that urgent bank transfer? You pray for your bank to have "network", else....
You're rushing someone to the emergency of any hospital in Nigeria? You pray for the needed drugs, machines and personnel to be available, functioning, else...
You are coming back from work, tired and need that weekend rest? You'll have to pray for NEPA, the traffic warden, your neighborhood church (or it will be in session blaring noise into your bedroom) and the Jumaat prayers of course, else the road might still be blocked by bowing folks.
If you are not prayerful enough, the day you will need to make that life and death phone call will be the day all the network service providers will be "having challenges" and frustrate your already twisted hustle. Who do you report? NCC? Nah. "God punish MTN" will be your best call. And that too requires faith.
In Nigeria you just have to be very prayerful. Even the government recognizes it cannot do anything if the citizens don't pray hard enough to God. So at every turn they ask citizens to pray, pray and pray! In fact government functions actually begin with prayers from one religion and end with prayers from the other.
Prayer is the key to everything here except for those with the right connections and political power. To these, prayer is merely a superfluous gesture of identification with the horde of praying folks, a kind of gesture of humility.
You are an undergraduate? You need prayers against ASUU strikes, missing scripts, lecherous lecturers, gun-wielding students...honey you need prayers to graduate.
You are a young graduate in need of a job and even a spouse? Church is the key.
That bigman in your congregation will notice you with your pink monkey jacket always greeting folks and directing them on where and how to park their cars and consider you to be very humble and godly and find you that coveted spot in his ministry.
Forget that there's no advert in the papers. The real jobs don't get advertised my friend. You just fill the right forms and gbam! you are in and your pastor will sing and dance as you testify to the power of the living God of Daddy Apostle.
If you can attend all your prayers and ensure you have major roles in your Jumaat mosque, my friend one day your imam will announce that a bigman says he has a couple of slots in his ministry and you, my friend will scream alhamdulillah! as your name will be the first on the list.
See, in Nigeria, everything depends on God. Even when you can afford to pay for steady internet connectivity, you still have to pray for the network service providers else, half your sub will go to waste and there's nothing you can do except report them to God. Now tell me why people won't pray to have visa?
People need prayers my friend. Loads of it.

Nigerian students typically graduate high school at 16-17. The vos know this and are wondering why you’ve suddenly decided now to go for a bachelors degree, at a cheap backwater school that requires no test scores. Those same vos spend their day seeing younger students with fantastic test scores gaining admission to top US colleges... and here you are.

You fit the stereotype for “intending immigrant”.

i understand , BUT I think we place so much emphasis on God in this part of the world because we lack a system that works . I dont think all what you listed earlier concerns God at all. God has no business with all that. It is just that we lack a system that works . The western world, although they have churches and they pray too, but they see God differently and have a system that does all what it can to emulate the attributes of God . They see God as a Concept which can be abstracted and replicated in their system . They have a system that works and basically provides their needs so they see God differently . Our government here firstly, do not have an understanding of the God concept , so how do they want to replicate the attributes of God ? despite our leaders being deacons and deaconesses in their respective churches .

Have you seen a German and get to understand the ideological conception of how he sees his country ?

Sometimes when i read up stuffs that Twoods writes here in defense of his position during arguments here, i see reasons with him sometimes .

the way Nigerians sometimes are treated abroad is as a result of the kind of country we are in. Our leaders are just our biggest problems, because we live in a country that does not have a system talkless of one that works .

Hey guys, quick question...

My friend's brother failed to renew his Canadian student visa, even after the 3-month grace period. (i honestly don't know why he was nonchalant).

Now, the lawyer is saying the only option he has is to get married. I just want to know if all this guys mess would affect my friend - the guy's sister.

I am sure their records would show the relationship. Would it affect my friend when she wants to get her own student visa?

The story is confusing . If she needs a visa then she doesnt have permanent stay . if she doesnt then how would it help the guy ... Except he intend to switch to hers as a dependent visa . if dependant visa , i dont know the rules but the lawyer should
