Why step down the processor? The Mi 6 runs on a Snapdragon 835.

This is like the lite version of mi 6 so it's no brainer it came with sd660.

Many things decide battery life, such as screen resolution etc.

An L8 plus will surely last longer than a Xiaomi with 4kmah, even though the Snapdragon is more power efficient.
This is as a result of the poor screen and much slower processor.

Same applies to many Tecno and Infinix out there.

6. Please recommend a decent phone, I will do my best to research more about it.

The thing is this device is known as Redmi note 5 pro in India, while in china it is called Redmi note 5. Same device albeit slight changes in camera specs.

I disagree with this. Because xiaomi realse hundreds different models of phones doesn't mean they make better phones than LG. Yes they make better budget phones but but LG have been making better flagship phones since LG g2. The highest xiaomi phone is mi mix 2s just released this month and still no match for LG v30 released last year. Meanwhile LG flagship for 2017 the g7 think Q will be out in a few weeks. Also xiaomi just started adding dual back camera in 2018, something LG has been doing since LG g5.

Agreed xiaomi is now growing faster than LG, but LG is still a more trusted brand worldwide. They are still behind LG in display. And just when will they stop copying the iPhone in their design. Just look at the camera placement on the mi mix 2s just like iPhone X. But who cares so far they make good affordable phones.

Better education on how long a phone lasts: IT DOES NOT DEPEND ON MAH RATINGS ONLY. iPhones have less than 3000mAH. Xiaomi uses one of the best processors SNAPDRAGON.

How a phone last depends MORE on the battery capacity than the processor chips. That's all am saying. I have used an iPhone 5s and am currently using a techno p4 pad (7000mah). I know the difference in terms of lasting after heavy internet usage
