The students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,umudike mourn as the cold hands of death snatched a vibrant finalist from them.

It was really a heartbreaking news to Nigerian students and the University community as they loose a precious soul in the cause of an accident by a reckless driver.

Obinna Chiaha, a 400L student of B.Agric was knocked down before City base filling station, Umudike by 9pm. As at then, the young man was unconscious. On getting to an hospital, Obinna (SK) was discovered dead.

Angry Nigerian students descended on the driver and hit him mercilessly. His car was set ablaze at the spot before the intervention of security personnel.

Will the family still expect this man to compensate them after destroying the car nd beating him? Instead of arresting him right away.
What will they do if the driver died in the process too

No wonder many drivers hit nd run instead of coming down to help the victims.

Thats the thing. No matter what they do to d driver, even though they kill him the poor boy will never come back to life.

So the best thing to do is to sieze his license nd make him face his jail sentence if found guilty so he wont have to waste anoda soul recklessly.

Obinna must have led a very carefree life and an apparent drug abuser hence the nickname SK.

If he could have a photoshoot with such an oversized, rumpled shirt;
then it's safe to say he may not have been paying attention to on-coming traffic when crossing the mainroad.

I really feel bad for the owner of the vehicle that was set ablaze. This is such a loss to him.

I was shocked to the marrows when I heard the VC supported his students and declared the day a Black Day. That is supporting anarchy.
A responsible VC will fish out the culprits who set the car ablaze and factor in the cost of replacing it into their next session's school fees.
