1. Shanghai Maglev ( 267.8 mph)

With a speed of 267.8 mph,It is by far the world’s fastest train. Within 4 minutes, can reach it’s highest acceleration. Siemens and ThyssenKrupp built the Maglev, which floats on a magnetic field between the train and the track rather on wheels. It runs on the world’s first commercially operated high-speed magnetic levitation line .

yes, there's more need for those trains there. over 5 million people enter Tokyo by that train each day. most tokyo houses are like garages in the US. most Chinese are poor and china is not fully a developed nation yet .

there's high speed train in some regions. below is the proposed map. whether or not there's high speed train in US,most American prefer to drive or take the plane. most Chinese and Japanese can't even afford a car. the life there is just designed to keep you average and minimum . totally different system .
nice point smiley

6. E5 Series Shinkansen Hayabusa ( 198.8 mph)

Japan’s fastest high-speed train service, the E5 Series can travel from the Shin-Aomori station to Tokyo in just shy of three hours. The Hayabusa’s based on the East Japan Railway company’s Fastech 360S high-speed train. Kawasaki Heavy Industry and Hitachi manufactured the Hayabusa, one of the fastest high-speed trains in the world. Its design, including its 15-meter long nose and full-active suspension system, minimizes sound blast and vibration as it travels through tunnels. Each Hayabusa seats 731 passengers.
Rode one of these the feeling is ecstatic with amazing speed and unbelievable prompt timing.
