Breaking: Senator Dino Melaye To Spend 38 Days In Police Custody by tiwaz(op): 1:37pm On May 03, 2018
A Lokoja Magistrate Court has ordered that embattled Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial district be remanded in police custody for 38 days pending commencement of hearing in the case brought by the police against him and three others.

The charges the police brought against Senator Melaye bothered on criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, amongst others.

The Counsel to Senator Dino Melaye, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) argued for his bail which was opposed by the Police prosecuting Counsel, Alex Iziyon who insisted that that the offences preferred against the senator were ordinarily not bailable.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Suleiman Abdullahi denied the bail application and ordered that Melaye be be kept in prison custody till June 11, 2018 when hearing in the case would commence.

Only 38 days?

This Dino is a stain to Nigeria Politics, and he should be escorted into the Bar Beach to be never seen or heard of again.

He lacks the maturity to be a Senator.

He lacks maturity in what area? But your Buhari keeping quiet about the killing of middle belt Christians is maturity shey? Shame on you...this is clearly executive bullying and injustice and I assure you it will come back as karma to Buhari and Yahaya Bello

In that 39 days, dino will intentionally starve himself just to gain sympathy, and the gullible Nigerians will be supporting him.

It is unlikely he will spend 39 days.He would likely go on appeal to a higher court before the said date.Especially with his "ill-health" I don't see him spending two weeks in jail

The truth of the matter is that dino has stepped on so many big toes. For u to say the truth to any government u must belong to any of the camps that matters.

He doesnt belong to tinubu camp, he doesnt belong to el rufai's camp, he didnt align himself with kyari or the daura's camp, u dnt play politics that way, u must belong to any of the powerful camps to fight a government.

But in the case of dino, he stepped on the toes of all these strong men starting frm tinubu to the rest . Now no one to defend him because even the senate is helpless in this case

There are numerous bugbears in the profession of a politician. First, ordinary life suffers. Second, there are many temptations to ruin you and those around you. And I suppose third, and this is rarely discussed, people at the top generally have no friends.
