apc should forget ekiti if fayemi wins, he enjoys zero goodwill from ekiti people, serving as a minister for 2 years and not having impact on ekiti indigenes hasn't helped matters. segun oni can deliver ekiti for apc, he tried in the time he spent as a governor but I'd love daramola to be remembered if apc wins ekiti, the guy has tried a lot for apc and ekiti

Tanko Al-Makura, chairman of the committee organising the election, is currently in a meeting with some stakeholders. None of the aspirants was on seat as of the time this report was filed.

An aspirant was accused of conspiring with operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure that the outcome favours him.

In the spirit of political tolerance and democratic governance, I have directed the release of the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado State for use as the venue of the APC governorship primary election tomorrow. How I wish APC governors can also do this in their States.

GOVERNOR AYODELE FAYOSE

Hours before the exercise commenced, there were reports that party officials were routing for some candidates but Jide Awe, state chairman of the party, dismissed the allegation.

17:56

"That allegation is baseless. There is no preferred candidate. People will have their own opinion but I have been the chairman of this party for the past 12 years. I know each and every one of the aspirants. Among those contesting are my exco members. We are not enemies, we are friends. As far as we are concerned, the 33 people are for us and when one of them emerges today after this process, he becomes the candidate of our party," he told TheCable.

17:58

Asked if he was satisfied with the arrangement in place, Awe said: "Very well. We have just started and the situation is ok. My expectation is that the best candidate will emerge and that will be the best aspirant, that will be the candidate of our party. And I equally expect hitch-free primary today."

Unfortunately, the exercise did not go hitch-free

WHY WE ARE FIGHTING

An election observer recounted what led to the violence.

"We saw police officers voting, we also have evidence of someone pointing and telling people where to vote, and we also saw former governor who was siting down there and directing his agents to talk to DSS agents who were directing people to vote," he said.

"This is clearly a compromised election and when an election is compromised, people fight back. What we're only seeing here is a symptom of people feeling that they've been disenfranchised and we should not allow it."

A total of 2,408 delegates were accredited for the exercise across the 16 LGAs in the state. Only four LGAs had voted when chaos broke.

Aspirants walking out of the meeting presided over by Al-Makura following the outbreak of violence.

Most of the aspirants are saying the exercise has to be rescheduled.

Many of you are not from Ekiti State and most have never been to Ekiti sef... I'm from Ekiti and I can say that only few aspirants can give Fayose some little wahala (people like Segun Oni) and that doesn't guarantee that he will even win.

If Fayemi wins today, that's the end for APC in Ekiti.

I like Segun Oni and I will surely vote him if he wins but if he doesn't, I'm sorry, I will vote Fayose (not Eleka) but it's gonna be PDP!
God bless you for this comment. Many nairalander have absolutely no idea how Ekiti politics goes. They just follow the media first, then come all with their ammo.

None of them truly can except Segun Oni.

Fayemi is even daring Ekiti people by coming back so fast. He wants to pull an "oshoko v2. 9" when oshoko himself is on 2.0 version.

I however will love more women to get into some serious seats in ekiti politics....

Ekiti people love recycling. But at it is now let see who will tackle PDP in Ekiti.
Listen yo yourself now. This is a party and it's the choice of any candidate to come forward as he likes. The main election is where #EkitiDecides will now show who is who.

guy stop saying rubbish about what you don't know.Fayemi was the candidate to beat.He had more than half of the delegates already.when some of them saw the trend they had to pull the stunt .its was already over town that he was majority of the delegates .while the closest rival had 400.A long convoy of delegates favourable to fayemi were seen entering into town today which confirm what we all knew. The rest seeing this knew they had no chance.mind you calling for a cancellation is part of the game its called timeout.

Cuy That is also a lie. there was know observer that saw any police voting. They saw the trend .How can a police man vote in an open election in broad daylight in the view of every one .They knew who had carried the day. This is a political stunt used when you are loosing ,mind you in one of the fake reports it was said to be a correspondent.

You tried but you still didn't get the gist. Yes, Fayemi lodged some delegates that were just above 1000 in Ondo state yesterday where he gave them some whooping amount to buy their votes. He transported them to the voting centre today with coaster bus not less than 8 in numbers and only for him to be surprised that most of them where still not voting for him. Fayemi had to disrupt the whole process when the election was not favouring him. He did this with the help of the policemen.

Where you at the venue, do you know why the delegates and the entire populace were singing "Fayemi Oleh". I will avail you with the video if you want.
