Good morning,

please should we use tie for the interview stage?

It is not a must but I think it's safer to do so

The interview went well. It was basically a group exercise and one on one interview. You guys can check 2017 and 2016 thread it will be very helpful.

Alexy2014, thanks for the info. Please what was the group discussion topic and like how many minutes did you use to answer the question "tell me about yourself"—if you were asked?

The group discussion topic changes, it can come from any field. I didn't time myself just spoke as the spirit led

I'm starting to think you guys swore an oath of secrecy. What's it with the 'tight-lippedness'? Shoooo!
I know very well the topic changes, I asked which one you were given. Haba! Thanks all the same.

Good evening, am happy that your interview went well. I must commend you for bringing out time to comment on this thread. It is greatly appreciated.
However, your reference to 2017 and 2016 won't be possible if they refused to provide information during their time.
Well am not saying that you should do anything against your ethics but my question is, what would be the reference for subsequent years?
Well my interview is still far and I hope for the best, I also promise to provide relevant information after my interview. Dropping valuable tips on nairaland won't reduce my chances of getting the job.
I will forever cherish the maturity by those in the 2013 set.

Lol "this our set sef". I believe they'll drop tips of how well they did and didn't do when they get the final mail. Just keep the interviews memory fresh. Everyone is allowed their views and principles. While some will come and divulge their experience almost immediately, some will deem it detrimental to their chances. Godspeed everyone!

The thing about Assessment Center is this:

1. For the Group discussion, just try to contribute even if you're not the group leader.

2. There is no hard and fast rule for the one on one interview. As in my case sometime ago, the first question was: tell ua about yourself, why PwC, tell us why we should hire you.. All at once.

3. If you wanna lie, make sure you've recited what you wanna say till your mind believes it, if not, you'll be messed up. Most of the people interviewing you have passed through the process and therefore know how you'll behave in different conditions. They'll drill you properly such that if you didn't prepare sufficiently, you'll regret coming.

4. Prepare for any question. Any. They won't necessarily ask questions from your CV. They've read it. They'll expect to hear compelling reasons why they should hire you. It's not by how many degrees or first class you possess. PwC employees are smart. It's one thing to be intelligent and another to be smart.

5. Don't come and claim know-it-all there oh. At the same time don't hold yourself back from expressing all the good qualities you believe you have. If things haven't changed, questions are asked for real life scenarios around whether you've demonstrated skills as a leader, team player and have displayed excellence either in school or in life generally. Don't over think it.

6. Know the basic things for the LOS you applied to (Tax, Assurance or Advisory)

7. Be smart and know the latest happenings in Nigeria and the world.

Finally, just be you. You can't fake all these stuffs. Their questions will shake you. The length of your interview shouldn't be a pointer to anything. It could be long or short. smiley wink

The period between when you do interview and getting success or regret mail can be tortuous as you remember every single line of what you said in the interview, thinking of how you would have done it better. Never worry.

Thanks.

Just like I expected, this year is gonna be some tight mouth period. And to think, my interview is still weeks away. Might as well look for some private prepping since this is my first interview in Nigeria.

And I was warned not to come to Nigeria! embarassed

Could you please give a hint to the topic of your GD?

If the two groups of yday and today could possibly give us the slightest hint of the topics given to them, it will really be appreciated.
It's just to have an idea.
