The Israelis don't need the backing of the United States. The Israelis ran their own numbers and frankly an airstrike on Iran won't work. The Iranians are not stupid and have learnt lessons from the Israelis air strike on Iraq's nuclear plant in the 80s and Syria. That's why the Iranian nuclear program is not concentrated in a single area, but scattered across the country and buried underground. Even Iran's Sunni neighbours, despite all the issues between them and Iran, won't be so keen on granting Isreal permission to use their airspace for fear of angering their populace, thus feeding the spread of Wahabism. Even the Stuxnet viral attack against Iran was pretty much contained by the Iranians.

You will be surprised to learn that Israel receives the biggest military aids from USA annually. About 3 billion dollars annually!

It will interest you to know that apart from the huge annual military aids to Israel, USA has weapons being kept with the Israel government in case there is a need for USA to fight war in the Middle East and Israel is free to use those weapons at any time she is in war with any country in the middle East.
