Oga! okun people are pure Yoruba, they speak a Yoruba dialect that is very close to akoko Yoruba sub group (ondo state) a dialect of North east Yoruba land. All the okun people I have met are proud Yoruba.

You don't need to say you don't have problem with islam. You already said you have problem with the use of "Emir". Emir as it sounds is more comfortable for reasonable muslims bcus we have a term like that for leader in islam called 'Amir'. It simply mean leader or Imam. But Oba as we know in Yoruba land, while it means the same thing, we know without doubt all sort of nasty things they do whether during coronation or other festivals. If there should ever happens to be overthrown of Emir of ilorin, i rather prefer 100% practising muslim Emir of Yoruba descent. But i dont have problem with current Emir.
