If there should ever happens to be overthrown of Emir of ilorin, i rather prefer 100% practising muslim Emir of Yoruba descent. But i dont have problem with current Emir. Speak for yourself. I am proud of my Yoruba heritage worldwide and I don't want my Oba to be a Pope or Bishop or Imam or Emir or any silly imported religious title. He can practice whatever faith he wants, that's between him and his creator. But my culture and identity should be preserved.

I have also outlined Yoruba practices that are in harmony with Islam or that are nuetral. And I said those that are nuetral or in harmony I have no problems with them.

But the cultural practices which opc, ogboni people are craving for are those nasty stuff like rubbishes they do at coronation, egungun agemo Eyo osun festivals etc. These are not in harmony.

see logic plenty of Igbo in Lagos want biafra and biafra is different from ilorin. Ibos are not in their ancestral land but different place. First all, the same traditional laws guiding typical oba in Yorubaland guides Emir too. That's, you can not remove emir without due process. Like either emir dies and then you install Yoruba man. Or emir violates conditions to retain his Emirship leading to dismissal.

You can't just claim because he's fulani, therefore you want to remove him. That's very silly. Doesn't work like that.

Now from Islamic point of view, we can not rebel a leader without a just cause. To remove a leader in Islam, the leader must have openly violated right of Sharia law and right of the people.

Is Emir of ilorin guilty of this?. It is up to you prove it. If you can establish the fact that he abused his position I can look into that but I'm not supporting his removal solely because he's fulani. That's calling for anachy in the city of ilorin.
