achiever12: If you noticed, I intentionally did not want to comment on any of the issues he raised. Most of the rank and file military men make such assumptions with no evidence. They hear a rumor that Ministry of Finance approved so and so amount of money for them, then it becomes a undeniable fact and when their expectations are not met, they shift the blame on the officers. Does it even make sense to you that 100k funds are approved and it is brazenly cut down to 48k. Not even that 5k is missing from their money, its a whooping 52k each! You think such will happen and nobody will blow a whistle or heads won't row? I know these rank and files, they detest officers so much and will always accuse them as the source of their sorrows. 2 Likes |

merrypakman: Exactly... I know someone's dad getting paid 30k per month instead of 270k as operational allowance in the Northeast... the remaining 240k is being shared by the ogas at the top... Now multiply 240k by the thousands of soldiers and officers in that place...then you will know that quite a lot of people are benefiting from the present state of the nation. |

freedomchild: How do you expect people who had weeks of training to win over people who have been preparing for war for years... yeah biafra produced some local gun and akara bomb. But it wasn't worth it. Because they were still very small in numbers. They can never have defeated Nigerian army. To your assertions about boko haram... the terro group didn't come out for war... because they are cowards. They are hide and harm group. More Also corruption has eaten deep into the Nigerian force. I could remember before boko took over the entire barracks of 243 battalion at mongunu. They top offices were even eaten the allowances of the junior soldiers ... and no one can say anything... A captain mole from the Nigerian army fighting for the terro group was unveiled then. More Also several times terro group have also gained access disguising as PHNC officials to invade the barracks.( though this was there second attempt and was unsuccessful) The final time they took over the barracks... all personnel were aware of what is coming but don't know the date... they got alerted 2 weeks before invasion and nothing was done. Look at that... So many times boko haram will be rading a certain village where is even close to the army boys... you will hear an order to "Stand down" And this is still happening now.... our soldiers are brave men... But politics and corruption as tamed them to be unfit... I feel like sometimes killing all the old men and many politician in Nigeria. They are they problem we have today. 2 Likes |

MaziOmenuko: It's not a lie...those Generals take the bulk of the money... The military is not like the civil world where you can make a revolt; you will be charged to Court Martial for insubordination, mutiny...just name it. And some even get less than 48k...some earn 30...the most I've seen is 50k...it all depends on your location(battalion or brigade). A friend's dad is a Major, he's entitled to 270k but was getting 30k(which is a flat rate for all soldiers there). |

dying for a country whose leaders don't give a flying shit about you is not something I would consider. They steal from you and send you as pawns to die in their sick political games. |

SammieJayh: I am not doubting how much they receive, I am saying that the expectations of 100k could be false, a rumor or just gossip which they held true and when it didn't materialize, then someone must have 'chopped their money' according to them. |

dokyOloye: DEY R NOT AS BAD AS U SAY DEY R. WEN A SOLDIER GIVES U AN ORDER, OBEY FIRST N COMPLAIN LATER. D PROBLEM IS DAT MOST NIGERIAN CIVILIANS BEHAVE LIKE JACKASSES. HOW MANY NIGERIAN SOLDIERS COLLECT 50 OR 100 NAIRA FROM MOTORISTS. WEN DEY GIVE AN ORDER OBEY IT N STOP ACTING LIKE A SMART ASS |

dokyOloye:that's a big lie bro!!! the Army I know never humiliate anyone unjustly lie lie e no dey happen, and the few cases of personal encounter between soldiers and civilians are also investigated and if the soldier has any blame to share they are punished accordingly" although u may not be aware of such proceedings, anyone who has anything to fear about the military is of questionable character. soldiers do not brutalize or humiliate anyone on the street for no "reason" such may happen in the case of : indiscipline, criminals, terrorist or u believe ur papa get money" so u fit talk anyhow, tor u go tell them whether na u give uniform wear. God bless our gallant military. |
