Rohr harps on Quality team football above individual quality

”We don’t have Kanu, Jay Jay Okocha, Ikpeba, Victor Agali, we have a team team who must win together, play quality football because not one player can make us win,” Rohr stated in an interview on Channels Television .

”This is the first thing that we decided for everybody to be
attacking when we have the ball, everybody has to defend when we don’t have the ball.

”This quality kind of football brought us to the World Cup. When we get the ball, we have fast attacks, this kind of style is for me among our strengths.

”What I like about the team is the fighting spirit and the capacity to suffer together.”

The French team is so strong that players like Lacazette and Martial couldn't make the list.

Hmm.. na wa o. Make we even get a player like Martial for our team sef. If for no better for us?

Names names names.... All these big European sides have them. We are used to it. France had it all in 2002 yet Senegal didn't give a crap. wink

Anyway, I am so happy to see Matuidi made it. grin I would now more than ever hope we meet France in the round of 16 if or when we qualify.

Matuidi and his fellow midfield lieutenants go hear am. We wilp be ready for them this time.

Same Nigerian men complain about the women, but the women are like that because the men have brought out the worst in them.

Nigerian men demean ALL Nigerian women, they disrespect them continuously. Nigerian feminism can indeed be extreme and downright idiotic at certain points, but the women have been pushed too far

These men go about dating leeches over and over again, only to assume ALL women are like that. The ladies that are actually not like that cannot even get a man because the average Nigerian man is intimidated by a woman who has her money and isn't needy.

Nigerian men love needy women, so, they will keep having relationships with them and keep insulting the rest of us as if anybody sent them message.

They expect all relationships to be sexual, but they accuse all women of being olosho, as if they did not create the olosho

You are what you choose to date.

The thing is very annoying. If people are not your type leave them be. Don't demean them because you want to raise your type up.
Nigerian women are this and that, disgracing the country, yadda, yadda, yadda...but we see who is arrested for fraud /drugs abroad, we see the cult members and their rivals that are arrested in Italy for disturbing the peace, we see the ones shouting United States of Nigeria up and down, and the ones who still believe West Germany has a president and they are all male. Baby mama blah blah blah, who is creating the babies? They are opening their legs anyhow but who are they opening it for?
There are a lot of hard working Nigerian women- working hard to survive and support their dependents, to find a job, to finish school, to make the country a better place and at every turn they are frustrated by randy lecturers, disgusting public service officers, culture/tradition, security personnel who take advantage of their positions, a flawed justice system and judgemental Nigerian men who choose to see always see the worst in them. Nigerian women are not worse than Nigerian men.

I've watched the game like over 20 times and I'll say we were better, we kept our shape and pressed them into losing the ball, Shehu was caught off his position just once and he did the right thing by bringing the man down before he got into the box.
With a 20% more passing accuracy we would have created more chances and maybe score more goals.

Shehu was caught out more than once. I can think of at least 2 moments.

Generally, I can see what Rohr is trying to achieve. Hopefully, it all comes together.

Lol, after the list was released, Brilla FM Onitsha asked Nigerians to name the 7 players to be dropped from the 30. Lo and behold, a human being of Nigerian origin mentioned Iheanacho, Musa, Joel Obi, Onazi and even Ighalo. They are probably trying to win a few Nigerian fans.

A few weeks back, a Nigerian commentator caught their attention in the Roma-Barca game.

And this generation of Nigerian men are any better. Some of you just sit in a corner and start to judge others. Are there not also uneducated, unexposed, arrogant Nigerian men? What don't they do? Fraud? Drugs? Demean women?
A man that has never met you will see you and call you ashawo because you are living alone, or see you driving a car and assume it's a man who bought it for you. You open a business and people assume that you must have gotten your capital by sleeping around. Some body will start shouting 'I have two of you at home as wife.' How many men are told to remain in abusive marriages because 'what will people say.'
Such things are demeaning and wrong whether you want to agree or not so please do not insult the women fighting against these things especially because you do not experience them. They have their faults, they may overdo it, their approach may be wrong, but they are there because things like this continue to happen. With all due respect sir, please stick to discussing football.
One of the greatest crimes in Nigeria is to be a 'successful' single Nigerian woman.
Oh my gracious Drlikita. This is soul outpourings. I am in the thick of these things. I am presently handling 3 divorce cases just within the last 3 months. All the marriages are from 2000. Africans tip Super Eagles to break World Cup jinx in Russia
By Alex Monye

Adepoju urges team to tread with caution

No African country has won the FIFA World Cup , which is in its 21st edition this year , but many pundits from the continent believe this is the time to break the jinx . And which team is better suited for the task than the Super Eagles.

A continent wide survey by Kenya - based PR agency Geopoll, client of African Laughter , tips Nigeria to become the first African country to win the trophy at the Russia 2018 World Cup slated to kick off next month .

The poll made available to The Guardian featured 2,400 unique football fans from six countries, including Tanzania , Kenya , Ghana , Nigeria , South Africa and Senegal.

In the polls , Nigeria has the highest to win vote with 31 per cent indicating that they would be rooting for the Super Eagles. Senegal follows closely with 20 per cent, while Egypt earned 23 per cent in the polls .

Geopoll noted that the fans were swayed by the outstanding performance of the Super Eagles during the African qualifiers, adding that 44 per cent of Nigerian fans are optimistic the Eagles would make history in Russia as the first African country to win the World Cup .

Among the other African flag bearers , the survey indicates that 49 per cent of Senegalese fans indicate that the Taranga Lions would win the Mundial , just as Brazil was chosen by African respondents to win the competition .
The agency also established that 86 per cent of Africans across South Africa , Nigeria , Kenya , Senegal , and Tanzania plan on watching this year ’ s World Cup in Russia , compared to 71 per cent who watched some of the matches in 2014 .
They posited that over 600 million fans are expected to watch the World Cup with Ghanaian men getting the highest vote of 99 per cent to watch the world football fiesta.

This, the outfit , said demonstrates the high level of interest in the tournament and the strength of the World Cup brand .
65 per cent of the Nigerians interviewed mentioned that they will be watching the World Cup from home , while those who were going to watch the games outdoors , at a friend ’ s place , in the office , restaurants / clubs and in other places accounted for 14 per cent , 10 per cent , six per cent, three per cent and one per cent respectively .

The Geopoll result also disclosed that football viewership has shifted radically in Africa in recent years from male dominated stadium and clubs to now large number of female fans, in a growth that commentators have attributed to changing life styles .
Geopoll said the large number of African respondents in the polls revealed that the continent ’ s fans see it as a patriotic duty to support their fans, adding that the 2018 World Cup , which is the first in Africa on media and audience services , offers data insight on its viewership.

Meanwhile, former Super Eagles player , Mutiu Adepoju has urged the national team to avoid complacency and work hard to achieve its potentials .

“The Eagles have a bright chance to win the World cup . But for me they should approach every game as it comes . Tipping them to win the World Cup is capable of putting the team under pressure.
They should not allow the fans’ praises to get into their heads to avoid complacency in their games . They need to give their best in every game to move ahead in the world championship . Taking each game as it comes would put them in good stead in Russia,” he said.

I don't think I have a problem with Kelechi Nwakali being on that list. He is one for the future too and has always been on Rohr's radar.

Plus he is a midfielder in a role in which we need to breed more midfielders of Mikel's calibre and quality.

But Usman Mohammed? well... na dem sabi. Emem Eduok... hmmm... why not Olayinka instead of Eduok? The list dey as e be shaa but we go manage am. It is dominated by home based players and was actually meant to be just a home based thing. So I think it is still manageable.

I'm just saying don't generalize. If you've never been in a position where you are honest and hard working and people question your integrity or dismiss your success because they think it is due to some external factor let me tell you from first hand experience that it hurts.

Perhaps you have come in contact with 10 million of these so called feminist (who are fighting because society has given then a reason to), l would like to respecfully remind you that there are at least 50 million Nigerian women that you are yet to come in contact with.

I won't comment further on this topic. No need to open a thread- I wouldn't want it to be infiltrated by immature young men.

Yeah Kostic drove towards goal from the flank (Serbia's left, Nigeria's right) after getting past Ebuehi and Ekong and Uzoho went to cover that side of the goal but unfortunately Kostic squared for a waiting Mitrovic and viola!
