Dude I'm tired of this super story already, if you guys feel your buyers are not from nairaland stay away from here or otherwise conform to stating FULL DISCLOSURE.

Yet I see you all trying so hard to explain that most car sales are done outside of here, ok then stay out, No una no gree, meaning there is more that meets the eyes.

From the property section to the travel section etc people will tell you how they make sales and have access to info, it's only in the auto section that you all claim otherwise. Who is fooling who, why do you expect one to tell you that he got the info from nairaland, they won't so that in the event that you f**k up they would open a thread and accuse you of any wrong dealings..

I give up to explain simple integrity business model to the bad gang.

valarinz:

You don't sell cars, let those who do it on a daily basis tell you about the statistics.

When people call, they first introduce themselves and say where they saw your ad, and if they don't specify, I always ask. If you like use 50 different numbers to call, I'll always ask you where you saw my ad each time you call.

Stop tryin to make yourselves feel so important here, common sense should tell you that if NL was so important in terms of bringing sales, then most dealers would've been pretending to be even holier than most of you here. At the end of the day, you guys make so much noise here without buying cars, so most dealers hardly bother.

Judging from your story, I'm waiting for that buyer that will come and treat my Fúck up on Nl after disguising that he's from olx, afterall I'm a dealer without integrity who lies about accident cars and don't display vin. Full disclosure my left foot.

You no longer have to look for a target, you've found one already, a confirmed shady criminal car seller, so just call and say you're from Jiji, but sha just make sure you buy the car then you can come and embarrass me here.

Till then, goodbye.

Dude the "You" I'm referring to is the bad gang that sell seriously accidented vehicles and claim clean title, accident/flood free when it's not.

I'm not referring to you per say bro, so relax, if you check I have never had issues with you previously save for today when you jumped into an issue that didn't concern you.

The said person called me out and I obliged, but you just came to his assistance and see where it has gotten him. It's best you stay on your lane since your Volvos are OK. Stop looking for trouble where there's non concerning you.

1. Everyone is a Victim when it comes to Vehicle History. In my 10years experience I still fall victim once in a while. You have no idea the type of crime that go on in USA & Canada. Forget about Vehicle History now. I once bought a Nissan Pathfinder with Clear Title Accident Free which I thought was Brown Color, Vehicle got here and turned out to be White Color. The whole exterior was prime in brown to deceive buyer. In such a case who do I hold responsible?

2. You probably didn't get my point here. My Point was to let you know the extent of crime that goes on over there. Majority of which were unbelievable especially for those that believe so much in white people. Not all whites are white.

3. Washing a Vehicle Title is the easiest thing to do. I created a thread here in 2009 on a badly accidented 2007 Nissan Quest. It was repaired and the Title was washed and report became Clean. It's that simple to do provided it's repaired to Standard. Don't believe in all what you read online. You will understand better when you'v been there before. It's a felony crime but majority got away with it and we Nigerians fell Victim because we believe soo much in them

Your points are valid , a lot of deceit, fraud, misrepresentation also takes place in US,Canada when you buy cars fir shipment to Nigeria, I had a bitter experience in 2015 bought a Mazda CX-7 with a "run and drive" title ,car arrived in Nigeria smoking, engine overheating, minor frame damaged, all these flaws were nit disclosed ,after spending over N2.45 million as landing cost to put the car in order I spent over N450k, bought turbo charger N150k,timing chain and cam rod -75k other parts and oil and workmanship took up the balance .

So I would enjoin all dealers despite these frauds or misrepresentation of vehicle title from the source of purchase should go extra miles to get he current status of vehicles and make it open to prospects as this will reduce mistrust , I will readily buy a vehicle that has an accidentEd title than one with a purported "clean title"

Did you look up the true implication of that 'runs and drives' designation?

If you did you would notice the fine print.

A vehicle can be severely damaged and overheating and smoking and still be tagged 'runs and drives'.

Okay , I believe my naivety resulted in my loss, but I would want you to know that even at source misrepresentations comes to play .

Aside from clean title cars ,which kind of title would be safe for one to buy and have rest of mind

Definitely.

A lot of insurance scams are perpetuated via auction. Similarly a lot of vehicles are misrepresented, but as far as they state their terms they cannot be legally liable for any events that seem contrary to their claims.

Always obtain a VIN report on any vehicles you intend to bid on. Don't rely on the photos the auction houses provide. They can be very misleading. Carfax or autocheck would do the job.

None. It's a lottery out there. You can even buy clean titled lemons on Craigslist and Autotrader. FFS, even authorized dealers sell lemons in the US sometimes.

The VIN reports with the photos would give you a better idea about the true state of the vehicle.

As for the categories of vehicles that may be good purchases, that's a personal decision, however I'd stay away from flood titles, vehicles tagged Junk/Export Only/ Parts Only/Certificate of Destruction.

Some buyers prefer vehicles with no front, engine or chassis damage, some with no SRS damage, etc.

In my experience Hail damage is one of the more reliable damage categories to bid on.

Well,it still boils down to lottery game-game of luck and chances, from your last two narratives I believe we are all on the same page with other members on this discourse but can see your only grouse with them is "Non disclosure" which seems not to be coming from majority of car dealers on this forum.

Well keep up the good job

Well said.

But if you look well, I wasn't jousting with you on the topic of accident cars or any other issue apart from the comment about the fact that much sales don't really come from NL.

Since, from what you're saying, you guys have been doing it from another thread to this place, let me respect myself and stay in my lane. Make I no go use head carry wetin I no know.

Peace!!
