I think Rohr will field both Ajiboye and Akpeyi in the game on Saturday. This is because Akpeyi, over the last 18 months, has only played 135 minutes for the team; and Ajiboye has not yet played against a non-African team.

The England friendly is obviously the last chance for either goalkeeper to stake a claim in the final squad.

Ezenwa playing all 90 minutes in 4 out of 6 WCQ matches, and Uzoho playing all 90 minutes in the last 3 matches indicates that both players have booked their seats on the plane to Russia.

Meanwhile, the best formation for the Super eagles at the World Cup would be either the 3-5-2 or 4-5-1; with Victor Moses playing on the left side of midfield as the common denominator in either system:

——————————-Uzoho————————-

———Ekong————Balogun——-Idowu———

—Ebuehi——-Mikel—Ndidi—-Etebo——V.Moses——

————————Iheanacho——Ighalo—————-

4-5-1:

———-Ebuehi——Ekong——Balogun——Idowu——

—-Shehu———-Mikel—-Ndidi——-Etebo——V.Moses——

——————————S. Nwankwo————————-

Ajiboye is going no where sir

I say it again, it will be hard for Rohr to drop Simmy Nwankwo, Lokosa or not. It seems he is better with his feet than head.

his good with his head too

Players i will drop

Agbo (simply have not seen him)
Joel Obi (has been unable to show his Serie A form for Nigeria after 3 games)
Simon Moses (Injury)
Akpeyi (Rohr will drop Ajiboye though)
Lokosa (Did himself a lot of credit, we should see him again post WC but with Ighalo and Simy as CFs, i do not see the space for him in the 23)
Elderson (could have received a red today, he is coming to the end of his international career. He has been a good servant)
Stephen Eze ( The fact that we did not see him suggests that he will be dropped)

Joel might not be dropped, is between him and Agu. maybe Rohr will go with Joel

My 23 will be:

Gks: Uzoho, Ajiboye, Ezenwa

Defenders: Ebuehi, Shehu, Awaziem, Omeruo, Ekong, Balogun, Idowu, and Aina.

Midfielders: Mikel Obi, Etebo, Onazi, Ndidi, Iwobi, John Ogu.

Attackers: V.Moses, Ighalo, Musa, S. Nwankwo, Iheanacho, Lokosa.
Yes, Lokosa will put up a decent performance against the English and that will propel him into the final squad

Lokosa may not travel to england

etebo better than Joel obi as CM anytime anyday...whenever he plays with mikel....he shines....
Joel is still rash with his tackles...and offer less offensively compare to etebo

Which Etebo??

the best position i have seen him play is the left wing. Etebo has also failed on CM for eagles.

please mention the game Etebo played in the CM position and was outstanding

Said fashion a chance out of nothing - not clinical. He does this better than Nacho even though Nacho is of course more clinical

Etebor is not better than Joel in the CM nor in the DM, though , Etebo gives more attacking option but he can be erratic with his attacking forays. Joel on the other hand is an old fashioned CM/DM with high level of discipline and concentration. Joel is just high energy as Etebor but more calculative

very sensible analysis of both players, in as much as i know joel is not performing to his capability, etebor during his days in warri wolves was a Left winger, even at the Olympics and don't know how he started playing in the midfield.

his strength is his lung bursting runs and eye for goal

The other big headache would be the starting line jobs England. The players, except the 14 or 15 who are “sure-bankers”, would desperately want to play a part in the game.

If Ajiboye doesn’t feature at all, then it’s safe to say the goalkeeping trio for the WC will be Uzoho, Ezenwa, and Akpeyi.

Ajiboye won't even travel for that game

You see now? When I said sometime ago that goalkeeper crisis is the least of our worries, you think say na play? For all we care we can play without a keeper if we can boss the midfield. Thats my own philosophy and opinion. At least now e don clear say una go get something new to make noise about.

A look at Etebo any day any time will tell you that he cannot be the 10 you are looking for. But you will hear people make all the noise about him being a baller. All I see is an Amokachi version 0.5.

Our eyes don dey clear small small. Make we continue dey make noise on Uzoho and Akpeyi.
My own beef is how is it that it took us this long to really know that we needed a 10 in the absence of Mikel? How long will it take to know that some players just cant cut it as a make shift 10? If Naija crashes out i the world cup at least we know where the problem lies. Lets stop fooling around and address the koko of the matter.

Solution: Remove every nigerian in the coaching crew and allow the coach do a proper screening excercise. Enough also with the media interference. Most journos are also agents themselves.

i don't understand Nigerians i swear, the set of players in camp is the best we can get fairly. winning teams improvise, i still see nothing wrong playing iwobi as a number 10. then problem with you guys is expecting him to play just the same way Mikel plays.

in 1994 siasia or mutiu adepoju plays instead of okocha...they ain't thesame, a coach can change there tactics to covr up for some players absent.

They keeper position was our problem, Rohr and the crew faced the problem and i can see there hardwork paying off.

And please which Alfa or prophet told you guys mikel will be injured in the tournerment

Who's going to be our first choice right back between Shehu and Ebuehi? The coach is definitely going to have some headache there in his choice of preference

zero competition, Ebuehi will work into most top European national team, Shehu is a midfielde, why have a worldclass defender on the bench and play a defensive midfielder in his place.

we could see how the congo guys were running shehu over, in as much as i like shuehu but i can't have such a guy like ebuehi and keep him on the bench

many indigenous coaches are also agent themselves....

Joel Obi and Agu are not bad players. We still need to see more of Lokosa. One performance is not enough. It would have been great to see him in England to see how he performs.

Every coach has a player he rates that most fans don't. In the days of Bonfrere Jo it was Garba Lawal. Agu will be in the final 23.

what has Joel obi played so far...for the past 3 games...he has played nothing..
we can't keep managing two Similiar midfielders.... onazi and Joel....
both are trending base on sentiment...while we can manage onazi let's drop Joel....
we need someone better...that can offer something upfront and compliment mikel...
