Pointless arguments are unnecessary.

Bidexii is also not in the military.

Already, Nigerian security personnel from the Army, Police, Department of State Services (DSS) have been dispatched to Russia for training as Special Forces to combat the Boko Haram insurgents who are mounting stiff challenge to the Nigerian security services.

As part of the agreement between Nigeria and Russia, a group of Nigerian security personnel are already in Eastern Europe for training as Special Forces with another batch, made up of the Army, Police and DSS billed to leave Nigeria next month to join the other three batches that are already in training.

They're still not operating under the umbrella of AFSF. My Bleep is with the NPF and I can confirm that. There's a special unit of the Nigerian police which has been taking funds from the ONSA and already has military training.

They were forced to stop for sometime when the military accused the police of not being capable to work with them in the north east and that weapons looted by bokoharam which were being used by the terrorist on the military came from the police force.

The unit was later brought back to the North east after more training abroad. The unit has NSCDC officers with it.

They are being trained together abroad but are not referred to as AFSF. ONSA has always been funding it like some others.

These guys were drawn from the SPU, MOPOL and CTU.

The ONSA coordinates their use in situ (north-east theater of operations) with the DHQ depending on exigencies but it must be stated that they are not known to engage in direct combat except auxiliary para-military roles like stop & search, raids and checkpoints etc in BUA. Some like the DSS, Police CTU or NSCDC Special Forces have proven effective in such roles albeit not in the line-of-fire.

At other times they report for duties under their respective commands depending on orders from above but they are not members of the AFSF whose members are only drawn from the Armed Forces and clearly wear the patch from the Defense Headquarters.

COIN. Just like not all men of the Nigerian army trained abroad are AFSF.. They're also not working under AFSF.
There was a time the police and DSS ambushed a building suspected to be bokoharm hideouts leading to the exchange of fire between them. The same guys were involved ( no one calls them AFSF but police or dss)

For those that know the ONSA very well, that office accommodate all security agencies which include Army, Navy, Airforce, DIA, NIA, CIA, Police and Civil defence. Their role is well spelt out even within the Office of National Security Advicer. They All have their role even though the goal is the same. Expect nothing more or less from AFSF too.

Today no one knows exactly what is clearly spelt out as what obtains in theory historically is not what obtains in practice especially under the current administration that doesn't seem to know how to decipher hierarchy between agencies and roles leading to friction between agencies. Even the most elite of intelligence agencies apart from the DIA such as the NIA is left bereft of pointed direction as it's new head basically is AWOL at the presidency.

To be clear though the military and other services have agents and officers seconded to the ONSA for running it's wide operations, however the Military under the DHQ which formed and controls the AFSF reports to the Defence Minister NOT the ONSA.

CIA shocked

The ONSA isn't that all encompassing as you put it, there has been bones hanging out of that body here and there. However, I am not concerned about ONSA at all but the AFSF. Seeing that some special units still exist in theatre,it is quite confusing what the role/mission is in the array of things

I know AFSf is in theatre

The SBS is in theatre too (Lake Chad), 111 SFBn( the ones that knocked out Boko's rocket manufacturing centre). Pray tell, isn't there an overlap/duplication of mission seeing 2/3 of the units in theatre are active in CTCOIN/COIN

Hope you get my drift

That claim is fault and many have countered the claim.

Seriously in this Abuja? Except u're not in the system or you're listening to talking heads on TV. Who countered the claim, a politician?

Suspicion is everywhere. There's bad blood in the hierarchy of the Agency not least because of the way the former Acting DG was treated, left high and dry to fight for his life. The current DG is hibernating at the Villa because he can trust no one at least that's one reason being gossiped. When last was he at the NIA?

Yes I get your point.

Those SBS guys that knocker out BHT rocket factories are back to there respective base, most of them has spent over 3-4 years in the north east theatre. So there is no duplication of mission seeing.

For the AFSF boots on ground are mostly the Pakistani trained ones.

Both unit are still in the theatre.

What am saying is they are rotated. You might not see much presence of the SBSC. The AFSF boots In the N.E are the one trained in Pakistan

Don't mix things up, am not saying the AHSG guys are Pakistani trained or not. The AHSG was born
when the Army saw the effectiveness of the MSF, then it created the Army Headquarter Strike Group(AHSG) .
Now not only NA personnel where trained in Pakistan, there are NN and NAF personnel has well.

Presently now AFSF and larger percentage of AHSG are Pakistani trained, Do you get my point .

Yeah we aware about the 3 X jf17 fighter jets but how long his it going to take in procuring such cheap aircrafts, it's quite annoying.

The budget indicates its a NEW project so, unless someone messes things up somewhere, this would be the first time we are actually going to PAY for the procurement
