I am not surprised at the tribal jagons being dished out on the thread. These men built their parks at ikorodu, paid money for the land, developed the land and employed people whom they pay salary. LASG is even collecting 35% tax on every bus, so unfair. Moving them to ojota is totally senseless. That place is already congested and heavily trafficked. Is it that nothing is inside the fat head of the governor? Those same luxurious bus operators suffered vandalism in the hands of APC thugs. Igbo people really have no place in Nigeria, I really don't blame IPOB for wanting their own country.

There are urban planning laws in Lagos State and you need a licence to open a bus park. These folk in their usual lawless manner think they can just open a bus park without recourse to government and when called out they start playing victim.

They have violated the planning laws and are being given a soft landing without punishment.

They could have been fined and if they paid for the land it could have been seized for violating the planning code and operating an illegal buus park

Lagos State government has moved against ALL illegal parks across the state

Liar! Those garage are for small cars and buses that run south west states. Hummer buses can't even enter there talk more of Luxurious buses.

That space is big enough abeg. LASG try! I have been to their ikorodu road parks and they are allways choked up and affecting vehicular traffic. They have been given quit notices since Fashola time but they felt the government lacked the political will to effect the notices. Their current locarions were never designated for the purpose they are being used for. If not for those greedy landlords that leased them out. The government has even created a decent enough space for them to utilize yet they are still complaining. Lubbish and nonsense!!

If I'm reading correctly, the state government asked them to leave, it didn't repossess their land or property, yh? Well, they could either sell that property to get money to buy another property at Ojota (which would be cheaper), or hold on to their property and lease it out or use it for some other business.

Why are people here asking for free land?

If you ask me, it's a good move. Goodness knows the traffic along Jibowu/Funsho Williams Avenue is bad enough without adding those busses to it.

You cannot establish private parks in Lagos State without a licence or permission from government it is against the urban planning laws.

Parks have to be located where they do not cause problems for their neighbours or for local traffic.

So if truly they bought land anywhere then that land can only be used in accordance with the planning code for the area

Ikoyi is a residential area so if you own land there you cannot build a refinery

You cannot buy land and just build a market anywhere.

There is a newly constructed bus park at Ojota New Garrage with Office space.

Why take loans from banks to develop another man's land?Why do you guys think ambode is contructing brt lanes?He wants to drive you guys from your developed parks so that he can use them for brt buses.

There is no parallel. None whatsoever

These folk bought land which they own(they claim) but the government is saying you cannot use that land for that purpose


The Benue situation is the government saying to the herdsmen you cannot graze on land if you do not own it. If you want to graze go ahead and acquire land for that

They usually don't own the landed property in question else they would be more concerned about compensation which I am damned sure the state government would not hesitate to pay them. Most of them leased those lands and built their parks therein without government approval to start with.

Also speaking on the ban, Acting Commissioner for Transportation, Prince Anofiu Elegushi assured that the space at Ojota Park was more than enough to accommodate the inter-state transporters currently operating from Jibowu and Yaba axis.

Lagos State has a Master Plan which is something many of these folk do not grasp. They love to do things through the backdoor hoping that as time passes the illegal will become legal

This statement is unfair and as such should be disregarded. I witnessed the containment by policemen in that axis. Could you farthom, borrowing to build and few weeks after commissioning, there is an order restraining you from performing your business on the guise of relocation. What happens to the money invested. This is pure wickedness. I am not against government suggesting a location for them but at the same time palliative measures should be taken to ease the burden on them.

The main issue is control. They want to OWN the park so they can dominate and extort others who may use it.
In the new regime they too will be tenants.


Their buses have damaged significant bits of the Ikorodu road infrastructure whilst turning because the road is not wide enough and also causes problems for other road users

My main concern is that there should be effective links for commuters to enter the city from Ojota

They should find a means of meeting with Senator Tinubu, perhaps there would be a solution. God bless Lagos state.
