What's wrong with these guys? if the relocation was done to ease transportation around the state, so be it. Your private investment should not constitute a nuisance.

Ambode got it wrong in a way, you can't tell people to leave a place without providing an alternative (empty land) not just telling them to go to somewhere as if na bush full the place.. again, a tax of 35% is way to high abah, Ambode fear God o

Theyve been writing to them to move since the days of fashola. No be today.

As per the tax, their negatives clearly outweigh whatever benefit theyre adding to the lagos economy. Companies at ibeju lekki are receiving tax cuts from the LASG.

The state government even provided them with an alternative yet they are still complaining. Sho! If they insist on not relocating to Ojota, they should consider Onitsha. Either way they are fighting a losing battle. Nobody or group can stop the itesiwaju of Eko.

It may appear that Ambode have the interest of the state at heart but Lagos need multiple of such parks at different locations that are easily accessible to people that live in different parts of the State. And spaces in this parks can be leased out to private luxurious bus operators. There is no point for someone living in VI or Lekki to drive all the way to Ojota in order to take a bus heading outside Lagos. The government is supposed to make decisions that make life easy for people and businesses. You need to know how people in government operate. There are other political private interests they are serving, not the general interest and convenience of the people. I am a born and bred native Lagosian.

Nonetheless, the Jibowu location is not a good spot for luxurious bus park, so these businesses still need a good alternative. And when you tell businesses to move to a new location, who cover the cost of their investment in physical structure at the previous or new location. You need to provide them with incentives. They are providing an important service to Lagos economy. Our local politicians are close-minded.

Is there any available space provided for them to move to? One important thing thing that must be considered in relocation exercise is provision of alternative (empty land ). The government only told then to go to ojota, ojota is one of the most choked up place in Lagos, if not the most.
Again, what do you mean by *their negatives*?

the govt should compensate them adequately because most times , the govt keeps relocating them forgetting that it was their presence that attracted much development to that area.
even if they agree to move to a less developed place, just watch how their presence will bring about development to their new place, after which in ten years time another government will ask them to relocate again to another less developed place and the circle continues

the proper thing to do is to regulate them properly in a way that they will not cause hold up

He also requested the federal government to intervene in the Value Added Tax being demanded from bus owners as it was difficult for them to collect VAT from commuters.
“The road users, especially commuters do not pay VAT; there is no how that we can collect that from commuters.
“And we are appealing to him to also look into that direction and see what can be done so that the tax people will not be disturbing us regarding VAT,’’ he said.
The Patron of the Association, Chief Eugene Nzom-Ojukwu (MON), added that the Association presented an award to the Vice President to show its support and strong solidarity with the government.

This chairman need to return to class and learn how to collect VAT.

Good point. That's why this society hardly progress. People in government only make short-term decisions that usually lead to failures in the near future.

Immediately after the bridge that link maryland and ojota by your right before ojota secondary school, and there is another one after new steel bridge going to ketu,
How did he provide them with alternative? Is there any vacant space in Ojota that the Governor gave them? Fear God in Ur sentimental rantings.

Ojota is a choked up area, these transporters have spent fortunes in establishing their operational base along ikorodu road and Jibowu axis.

The right thing for the governor to do is map out an area at d outskirt of the city for these transporters to build their base if he doesn't't want them in d city.

The Ojota excuse is lame as that area is d most choked up area in Lagos with heavy traffic and no space for luxurious bus operators[/quote]

Are u aware that d alternative park provided by the Lagos state govt can't even take one bus company, talkless of over ten bus companies with offices on that route. Go to yaba and see the small garden park converted to terminal that is meant to accommodate the buses of over 10 bus companies

No. That's no more a good spot for that kind of business. In term of interconnectivity Ojota is better option because passengers can quickly connect buses going anywhere in Lagos.I really don't think these operators are thinking about the convenience of the people. But I still believe Ojota should not be the only option, and government need to provide them with incentives to cover loss of investment in their previous location.

Why did they go to Osinbajo? They should have gone to Buhari or reported straight to Shuku Obuko Eponmalu.

Is Jibowu designated as a bus park? No.

I don't know why these guys think they can go to someone else's land to dictate how things should be done.
