Malay
The Malay is a breed of game chicken bred for their aggressiveness. The Malay has an upright stance, a well muscled form and a large skull with a cruel expression. Malays can come in a grey colour but are more common in maroon. They are usually bred for game shows.

Here is a list of the most common species we eat in naija

Plymouth Rock Chicken
Originated in Boston in 1849. Its well known for its tasty meat, good egg production, resistance to cold, early feathering, easy management, good sitting.

The Plymouth Rock is a dual-purpose breed, and is kept both for its meat and for its large brown eggs, of which it lays about 200 per year.

Rhode Island Red Chicken
It was developed in Rhode island by cross breeding a Malay and a leghorn. The bird's feathers are rust-colored, however darker shades are known, including maroon bordering on black. The cocks are usually aggressive and territorial.
While Rhode island hens are usually bred for their eggs.

Silkie
a breed of chicken named for its atypically fluffy plumage, which is said to feel like silk and satin. The breed has several other unusual qualities, such as black skin and bones, blue earlobes, and five toes on each foot, whereas most chickens only have four. Mainly used for poultry shows. They come is both white and black colours and due to their black meat, people rarely breed them for meat.
I don chop this one once in China very very sweet chicken...but the black coloured meat is a turn off for many people
