Dr. Wiebe Boer, a football analyst and author of the History of Football in Nigeria has predicted that the Super Eagles will reach the quarter final of the 2018 FiFA World Cup due to start in Russia on June 14.


He also predicted that Nigeria will qualify ahead of Argentina and Iceland in Group D.


"Nigeria and Croatia will qualify from Group D," Wiebe who is very passionate about Nigerian football, told Chamberlain Usoh of Channels TV this morning during the TV station's breakfast show, Sunrise Daily.


On Argentina, he compared the country's national football team to one single tree in a forest, saying the whole world saw how Argentina performed woefully without Lionel Messi.


Wiebe also said Iceland is an overrated team.


His prediction will gladden the hearts of Nigerians who have been concerned that the Super Eagles may not make it beyond the group stage because of the quality of opposition  in Group D.


Dr. Boer is the Chief Executive Officer of All On, a team he  joined from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he served as one of the founders of the company's Lagos office. Prior to BCG, Dr. Boer spent five years with the Heirs Holdings Group in Lagos, playing roles including Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Director of Strategy, and CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation. 


The Super Eagles will today at 2pm play the national team of Czech Republic in their last friendly match before the World Cup.
