Yes, the Trump regime is very sad. What really saddens me is the amount of hope and trust that has been put in his administration. And the degradation of respect and civility to each other. Well, hopefully 3 more years.

Its very simple,
Im outspoken and vocal. I think tribalism is ridiculous. I believe in gender equality, in which women should have a seat at the table. Meaning, women should contrubute equally in society and the home. And I dont believe in a patriarchal system as Nigeria sees it. I will respect my man and take care of my home, but I refuse to be chained to a stove. I despise corruption and greed in all forms. Im christian, but believe God cares more about the relationship vs rituals and customs.

The cold I can handle by dressing in layers like an onion. Texas heat kept me locked up indoors during the day, there is nothing you can do to ease the heat. Even in the shade it was awful cause of high humidity. At least Finland has summer and fall with really nice weather (not too hot or cold.)

As far as Nigerian men, well...
Idk.
I just dont like labels. Im not a feminist. But the men here keep talking about their rights and what a woman is supposed to do. I dont want to get in trouble again, so I will just say we are taught that we can have it all. I can chase my dreams professionally, maintain a family, and have a thriving relationship. But that requires teamwork, and Im not hearing teamwork here.
My man and I are fine but even he is a little rigid in some areas.

I stumbled upon here when searching something on Google, ended up staying cause Nigerians are awesome.
There's amazing food & recipes in the cooking section, great stories in the literature section (I highly recommend Number 225 Katakata Street), women have so much freedom to talk about anything without getting harassed, I made some amazing friends.

What I will say is racisism is deeply engrained in our country. Things have gotten better but it seems we have taken a step back lately. The beautiful thing about black people all over the world is that we are resilient and yet remain hopeful. Even though things are a little scary especially for males, its important not to give way to fear. Dreams can still be accomplished. It just might take some time and more hard work. I will also say being careful or mindful of certain things like surroundings or situations that will put you in a negative situation.

Great question...
Having grown up with it all of my life, I'm kinda immune to it now.
Unfortunately, I kinda expect it to happen at some point during the week.
Racism isn't going anywhere so I have to figure out how to deal with it appropriately...and still live a fulfilling life.
Honestly, my faith is what keeps me from exploding....and really letting loose when the racism is blatant.
I try to look at folks past their behavior and see them as God sees them. Racism is a result of sin....at the end of the day.
I have to pray hard though and try to truly live out my Christianity in a practical and sincere manner....not treating them (the racists) as they have treated me...
But I will say that not all white people are racists. There are genuine people in all races.
