Assuming he earned 35k weekly. 15 months = 2,100,000.
Estimated cost of tyres 50,000. ( new 15k and 5k for used tyres ).

How about Oil change ?

Renewal of Vehicle Papers and insurance?

Then the big monster called depreciation? Provision for wear and tear.

The lucky Partner actually did not make profit in 15months.

The car is the profit. He could still sell that car for N1.4m and start all over again.

He still had the depreciated car. Selling price between 1.250-1.4m depending on how well it was used

All repairs were on the driver including oil change.
He handled renewal of documents.
He still has his car which can still go for 1.5m
Mileage is still about 77000
He made profit my brother

Mr. Man, are you aware that sterling bank is giving out auto loans ..read through the post and it will give you more information on how to apply for autoloan ..the loan is very simple to get ..so that your toiling days will be over.. And if you still refuse to apply for the loan, you have urself to blame .. Hurry and hurry..

Mr man,all partners are not like you. There are still reasonable ones out there. Nairaland is just contributes less that 2% of us.
I met my current partner here on nairaland. His HP is without any security deposit. No assurance whatever u call it.
I know another outside nairaland. He does HP only. Handles all repairs by himself for the first 6 months. ALL REPAIRS AND TYRE CHANGE AND ALL.
Initial deposit as low as 30k.
Dru, these are all humans. I wonder how you reason

But he still had the car and its current value will still be near the 1m mark. So he actually made a profit.

Everyone started some where,no one is having it easy either. The investor might be using his last dime to purchase car for transport so need to protect his investment. If it's inconvenient for the driver,he can go on rental pending when he is ready for bigger challenge like HP. We should not be having pity party, no one promised us that life is easy.Transport is a business and should be taken seriously.

I never mention anything about Hp on the above post.. Drivers were complaining, so like a good citizen that I am , I offered alternative which is not a scam ..I stated that sterling bank is offering autoloan for uber drivers. And I stated that you can get more information about it on the thread.. So what crime have I committed here? Did I ask anybody to jump inside the lagoon ?

In the afternoons, target VI, Awolowo road Falomo etc.

Target those going home for the day, you'll get trips in Marina, Ikoyi & VI. Also between 8pm-10pm, you'll get a lot of trips in VI from those working late on Idowu Taylor street, and also KPMG office on Bishop Aboyade Cole.

Evening house, I have been offline for a while now on Uber and Taxify, and I noticed a lot of drivers going back to Uber. I would like to know which is better to partner with, Uber or Taxify in terms of returns. Thanks

I have a partner that got a his corolla for a total of 1.9m.
Received his weekly pay consistently for 1 year and 3 months. The only expenditure he did on the car was to buy two new tyres and four used tyres.
Judge by yourself if it is profitable to him

Each time we speak on an aggregate, we don't look at A PARTNER ..because one can't tell the whole story. There is also A DRIVER who isn't complaining wink

Current value is WHAT is PAID for the car, never what the market says is to be paid.

Ofcuz it will happen ... E-transports looks to run transport at the lowest fares possible ... that makes every one part of it

Food for Thought

E hailing business.... Time To Reflect.

A wise man once said, "without reflection, we go blindly on our way".

Our business has gone through several stages. From the Cabu Cabu era to the Yellow taxi era, then the E hailing era.

E hailing came as an unexpected force and we all know that Uber ( the change agent ) has come to disrupt the market.

Now initially the going was good. Partners and drivers made good money.

Then gradually, fuel price increase and recession raised it's ugly head. Our dear Uber also decided to reduce fares. We all know the story.

Now my question is this: Are we really making Profit? And if the answer is Yes, at what cost?

Partners, drivers and stakeholders in the house , let's have a honest conversation.

The big truth is that the Lucky individual out of all parties is the driver.. he doesn't have to wait 2years to start reaping TOO

Your ROI starts roughly 10months .. within that period u may have changed drivers twice, had a lay off period to rethink, had a downtime period of 1month or two etc.

Asset may b involved in total loss (insurance will cover to an extent).

The driver comes with basically nothing ... but he is able to take care of needs (defaults happen more because driver also has needs to be taken care of)

The basic truth is every partner goes into the bizness with different plans. Some plans don't look into ROI over long term, some take into consideration what need can I take care of putting my vehicle on e-hailing.

Till you understand what made you venture into e-hailing as an investment, then will you be able to accommodate how u profit/loss account.

driving skills ke...please don't quote this outside o... driving skills and drivers don't know about driving management ...having accidents upandan...

when u talk on Time... the partner is hit more... do u have a idea of how much time it takes on ROI? drivers time is calculated to best possible reach (peak period - off peak ). partner time is calculated with uncertainty. Abeg no make me talk too much this morning ... na money I wan find so

I will quote it anyday anytime anywhere, I've been driving for 15 years and I've not had any major ish, it's God's grace and driving SKILLS

How many drivers are having accidents upandan? Less than 3%

Okay partner will wait say 2 years on ROI, lazy youths wait 5 years doing nothing so anybody can wait. Besides I put it in quote that time driving upandan, that's why partner is not driving the car him/herself or probably doesn't have the energy/strenghth/ruggedness to do it which the driver also brings.

Yes sir, driver brings something, many things. Owner only brings money (car) grin
