I pray those driverless cars can identify potholes, out smart danfo drivers for Lagos, and have a rodit that can hold danfo drivers or trailer wey bash the car... Else insurance won't accept comprehensive claims on those cars
They will so pass one way ehn, and how will they cope with road diversions here and there, then when there's flood they will swim pass fish. I give them just one month oyinbo that brought them will see them and shout mogbe o.

Self driving cars are futuristic in this part of the world. Not something we even have to concern ourselves with in the nearest future.

No be only that. Na riders go chase them comot with 1star when the car follow Google map long route.

Well some riders fit enjoy am. Cos the car can wait for one rider for a whole day without flashing the rider or calling them to hurry up.

Some riders sef, fit turn the car to cabu cabu. By adding more passangers on the road to destination.

Uber partners , take am easy this raining season.. This is time that car owners go hear from mechanic.. Don't be in a rush to put your car on the road or add more to your fleet.. This is the season that drivers will drive car inside flood and engine, shaft, radiator go knock... don't be penny wise and pound foolish o.. Partners don't blame driver during this period, we all have to take responsibility for the decisions that we make as business people o .. Am not saying don't put your car on the road during season, am saying if you do carry your brain along ...

A word is enough for the wise....

Uber drivers don't 4get, ur high star rating shouldn't be wasted, make use of it to get ur self a fantastic vehicle from Sterling bank
Required rating 4.50 and above provided u av made about 1.2m naira in the last 3 months, the requirement is very simple, no one will ask u for deposit fee or commitment fee

no collateral required?

Do not test the depth of the river with both feet, u are practically new and would still need experience and jumping straight to HP is a cool idea except you are getting a very good offer, try rental for 2-3weeks, then learn how nook and cranny of it before jumping into HP.

mcadebola:
Its been a long read so far but also Educative. Please i have a few practical questions;

I am based in Lagos but i currently work in the East. I am planning to resign and move back to Lagos so that i can focus on my budding business.

I am planning to start Uber/Taxify on the side......... (I don't have a car yet), so i am intending to take a car on HP.

Of course, I cannot survive on my business yet as its still at its infant stage. Hence me wanting to start Uber.

From experience, do you guys think its a good idea to resign and start Uber?? This is cus i also feel it will afford me opportunity and time to also run my personal hustle

The car is the collateral. It's never yours till you complete your payments. It can be taken from you, if you default.

But it's really a good deal.

Edited.. .

But the vendor part is what is fishy. Imagine if Hyundai NIGERIA will be the one serving your vehicle and the bill is transfered to you/deducted from your earnings. grin

Also how will the so called daily remittance to a Skye bank account work? Considering most trips will be cash trips.

For most people. Uber/Taxify is a temporary business.

Buy a car, get a good driver and keep your job.

Only existing drivers will tell you the truth about the business. It isn't easy. Buh we are doing it and meeting up.

I'm doing better than most I met on the field doesn't make it that rosy.

From experience I do average of 135k when I started. Of recent I do below 110k ... Note all gross earnings

While many do hardly make above 90k a week. These are drivers that when they do,. They will be so happy to screenshot that achievement and when ever they are back to below 90k, they either mute or disappear from the thread
Very funny quote but u have just nailed it..nothing but the truth.God bless u

experience and driving skills different ... very different

experience asked about by partners is more related to earnings and not driving skill... u don see any partner quote driving skills? wink
Partner's Driving experience as u said is not just related to earning..it has to do with how drivers manage flood during raining season, how they manage riders with their various behaviour (rating concern) so that they ll not be blocked and retrain again, avoiding issues with social workers on the road e.g lasma, frsc, bike police (trafic light monitoring agency) etc....all dis issues affects partners weekly remittance..

I'm still trying to understand what's so special about these airport trips. Maybe it's because I live not too far from the airports. My airport trips are usually around 1500

I hate airport trips if it's not startinh from core inner island or on a surge.

Taxify app is just too trashy. I already have three complains just within a month on taxify.
Check out the pickup location and drop-off location.
I never had any problems with uber but their fares are too low.
Making a complain on taxify is just useless cos I reviewed a trip since last week Monday but got no feedback since then. So I didn't bother reviewing, was contended with what riders paid

How can you say his phone GPS is trash. Ok, let's assume you are right, can you then explain to us why the same trashy GPS is not having issues with uber app?

Taxify app is the culprit abeg grin

I have said it once before, they need to fire their developers and hire competent ones

What is error mode grin

Taxify app is the culprit that fails to communicate appropriately with the GPS and google maps sometimes. Because if you check your timeline on Google maps for that trip that went wrong on taxify, google timeline still gives you the real distance and time covered, but taxify will bring out rubbish and be showing the data is from Google maps

You didn't say anything about map, b4 I profess possible solution. If you have to keep using map, just do that from google map, ask for direction, but don't start. Better if you can get an iPhone, but using adriod phone on taxify lately is at ur own risk, pray u don't carry raiders that will Pity for you, especially she devil girls dat can calc price in traffic.

Ride 3k5 will bring 1k
Raider: sorry, let me help you to add 500, when they review it, call me. That's all
