NairobiWalker: Dangote is a robber-baron if you're American and a chaebol if you're South korean... These two countries had big names that transformed and industrialized their country just like Dangote is doing now... i mean Dangote is investing $23 billion in Nigeria currently... If he's the only one, WOW! I've always wished we had more Dangotes, Nigeria would be way more industrilized than it is now... Sadly rich Nigerians invest in oil and real estate 1 Like |

Deebee Company Limited was incorporated in June 1977 with the initial purpose of commercially exploiting the research results of Dr D B A Ogutuga, Ph.D. (Cantab), the Founder and Executive Chairman, on the process for the manufacture of wine from kolanuts. These research findings were as a result of Dr Ogutuga's doctoral research work at the University of Cambridge, UK leading up to his Ph.D. degree in 1969. The results were also later patented in Lagos and London in 1978. Production of wine started in an improvised factory in Ibadan, Oyo State, using mainly small-scale equipment and utilizing capital provided from the limited resources of the proprietor. The company was the first to produce wine in commercial quantities in Nigeria. Following the successful introduction of its products to the Nigerian market and the enthusiastic reception given to its products, the need to expand its production capacity was soon recognized. Between 1979 and 1985, the company obtained funding for expansion and the construction of a purpose-built factory was completed at Isonyin, near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. Operations at the new factory commenced in May 1985 and, with ready acceptance of the company's brands in the marketplace coupled with prudent management of funds, it was possible for the company to pay back its loans ahead of schedule. Between 1985 and 2004, the Deebee range of products continued to grow, utilizing the technical know-how of the Founder; it was thus that some of the brands (e.g. Popapine, Deebee Black Label ) became house-hold names in the Nigerian marketplace. All Deebee products are NAFDAC registered. 1 Like |

Daejoyoung: You have Itele and we have Enda Iten Running shoes, The Best Running Shoe for the All-Around Pavement Pounder for the second year in a row. Made locally in Kenya and used worldwide by athletes. Logo in last pic. Still a relatively new brand but doing extremely well. https://ke.endasportswear.com/ https://www.kenyanvibe.com/kenyan-made-running-shoes-named-among-top/ The Kenyan Heritage We drew inspiration from different elements of Kenya, including its rich history: 1. Colors: these have been selected to match the Kenyan flag (the shoes come in black, red, white and green) 2. Our Logo: it’s design is based on the image of a spear tip. The spear features throughout the history of Kenyan national identity, from the flag to being one of the highest honors that can be awarded to an individual in Kenya (Elder of the Burning Spear) — not unlike a knighthood or a presidential commendation. 3. Harambee Philosophy: Under the sole, you'll find the word "Harambee". It's the official motto of Kenya, and a value that drives us as a company. In Swahili it means “all pull together”, and is used to refer to moments where communities come together to accomplish something individuals couldn’t do alone – just as we are turning to you to ask for help in making Kenyan running shoes a reality. 4. The Number 12: Jamhuri Day (Republic Day), the most important national holiday marking both the date Kenya gained independence in 1963 and the day, exactly one year later, when Kenya became a republic, is on the twelfth of December - or 12/12. That's why we’ve got exactly 12 lines on the lateral side of the Enda Iten. 5. The Great Rift Valley: most of Kenya’s running champions come from the rift valley. To honor them, and the valley’s unique high-altitude and mild climate that makes for the best training grounds in the world, the heel of Enda Iten is designed to mimic the valley and its great escarpments. 6. Geometric Patterns and Repeating Triangle Motifs: these feature in many traditional Kenyan fabrics and beaded patterns. We've brought three variations of these patterns into the side mesh, the heel strap at the back and the outsole. We hope you enjoy these little bits of Kenya and find the Iten’s a pair of shoes you’ll want to wear both out on a run and about town.

Kenyans l just got started... Drugfield Pharmaceuticals Limited, a wholly indigenous Nigerian company, was founded in 1991 and commenced production in 1993 as a drug manufacturing outfit after approval and due recognition of relevant agencies and bodies including the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN). From an initial product dosage form of dermatological antibiotic and antifungal preparations, our facility now houses additional dosage form manufacturing areas for antibiotic dry syrups, capsules, tablets, ointments, creams, gels, powders, eye/ear drops, small and large volume liquid injectable preparations, nasal drops amongst others. In all modesty, we pride ourselves as the highest product portfolio carrier in the industry with over 140 registered product range. The completion in March 2012 of our ultra modern current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) compliant manufacturing facility for the production of intravenous infusion products (large volume parenterals), creams and gels as well as sterile ophthalmics has enhanced our competence to respond to global operational demands and acceptance. Our recognition by Regulatory Agencies and International Certification as evidenced by the NIS: ISO 9001:2008 award are clear indications of our progress as a company. With a strong, virile, committed, competent and dedicated professionals and staffs, our activities are felt all over Nigeria and in sub-regional markets. Our successes notwithstanding, we are poised not to rest on our oars until we take drug manufacturing industry in Nigeria to an enviable height that is globally competitive. 1 Like |

Cutix Plc started manufacturing at Nnewi in a 1,000m2 facility she rented from Adtec Limited. By 2009, we moved all our machinery to our own factory premises and head office at 17 Osita Onyejianya Street, Umuanuka, Otolo, Nnewi. Production now goes on at the new site, which has about 6,000m2 covered area while the head office complex stands adjacent to the production plant. The new plant under construction covers an area of 5500m2. The company’s water borehole and 1,500KVA generators are in place to serve the company. The company has delivery trucks to serve the distributors spread across Nigeria. There are also sales offices of the company at Nnewi, Aba, Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos and Uyo. We started production with one extrusion line in 1984 and has been in continuous production with the capacity to produce various cable and wire products, and by 1985, we added a second line. By 1986, we added several wire-processing lines to achieve integration par with leading cable makers in Nigeria and elsewhere in the world. All machines were specified, installed and commissioned by members of Cutix staff which is 100% Nigerian as a deliberate policy. We also incorporated as much locally fabricated parts as we could without lowering overall quality and efficiency. Our belief in the value of integration was so strong that during the difficult days of import licensing, 1984 – 1986, the company used the bulk of the licenses obtained to buy machinery for forward and backward integration. In 1992 the company went a step ahead to become the first cable manufacturer to acquire a plastic compounding line. In 1999, the first machine built by staff of Cutix was successfully put in service. Within 2000 to 2007, with a view to expanding our product lines and capacity, Cutix had installed and commissioned a number of machines, which include LBTS, F13, F-Shaw, Armouring Line, and Cabling machine among others. The company believes in continual improvement and for the purposes of expansion, another factory site was developed opposite the present one, and was commissioned in April, 2014. 2 Likes |

gallivant: IO Furniture was founded in 1987 as Interior Options Ltd in response to the inability of local furniture manufacturers to deliver the design and international quality standards required by our very discerning clientele. It was primarily an interior design consultancy service providing interior design services to mostly oil companies in Nigeria but has since entered into furniture manufacturing using cutting edge technology and experienced Italian technical expertise. The company has restructured twice, first in 1997 as we expanded from the oil business to the financial industry, office accommodation and finally large scale residential properties; and again in 2008 when the company went truly international with a world-class manufacturing operation and showroom, and a technical management agreement with a well-established and reputable Italian Furniture Manufacturing company. 1 Like |
