A recent poll conducted by PoliticsNGR, an online publication on President Mohammadu Buhari re-election bid in 2019 has revealed that some Nigerians are not too keen on supporting the President's second term bid.

In the poll which opened on Monday, May 21, 2018, and ended Sunday, June 3, 2018, respondents were asked, ‘Will you vote for President Buhari in 2019’ as voting was via www.politicsngr.com.

In line with the rules, those who preferred the President second coming in 2019 were to click the ‘YES’ button while those who were against to click the ‘NO’ button.

At the end of the exercise which lasted for 14 days, 5,227 votes were recorded. Of the figure, 3,687 votes representing 70 per cent voted against Buhari re-election bid while 1,538 votes representing 29.4 per cent supported his ambition. By this, it has been observed that the apathy among Nigerians concerning the Buhari’s administration and re-election bid had been rife and may affect his chances at the poll in 2019.

However, as a countdown to the 2019 general elections draws near and an opportunity for Nigerians to make the right choice, political gladiators like Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar, Sule Lamido, Omoyele Sowore, Kingsley Moghalu among many others have all indicated interest in becoming the Nation’s number one citizen. Nonetheless, political stakeholders and electoral watchers are still skeptic going by the president’s request that youths should drop the idea of contesting now, only to contest after his tenure.

The President has, however, made known his intention to improve the country's economy and double-down on the anti-corruption war if re-elected in 2019. This was evident in the recent conviction of two ex-governors for Fraud.

Where were they prior to 2015?.The truth is that,there's alot of awareness for 2019 gen election, meaning lots of people are going to vote.As am talking to you,a lot of people are lining up to collect there PVC.Believe me even PMB is not certain of his victory. PDP will give APC a run for his money.

Even Buhari will not be shocked at the outcome of this poll. You can see his desperate moves these past few days.

Buhari has failed drastically and there's nothing he can do in his 2nd term, he has no vision whatsoever.

My issue here is that online polls stay online, u can't compare real life polls with online polls, when almajiri children are being registered to get a PVC and a full grown adult in D South is struggling to get Registered. How do u think d real life poll will go?

This is a poll that is limited in the sense that it covers a small segment of the educated...it does not go out into the villages/rural areas,and only lasted for 14 days.

Though the thing is...APC wont do well in 2019...problem is, where is the opposition.? We just have a rehash of the old..and no new guys ,except Sowore who many won't support because...bitterness....

I won;t be voting for APC...but I won't be voting for PDP either. Kowa or NCP for me until Nigerians start voting based on actual ideas,and not tribe.

Pvc and voting is the real deal not all these fake polls that hold no waters.

the North is not the only part of Nigeria

North East and North West can never help Buhari win. He won in 2015 thanks to votes from South West and North Central, and right now, those regions are not smiling with him

You are talking off point. North East and North West been voting Buhari for ages, so, they are not what he used to win.

The Core North has always been for Buhari,even when he failed thrice to clinch the number one spot..

The deciding voters are in the Middle-belt and any region in the South.
