thank you so much jawa... everything was well detailed, I didn't use my company bank details but my personal, of which was specified in the letter sent, and yes I did online route...the application wasn't made from my own account but through an agent a close friend and I saw everything before he submitted the application...infact i did a thorough proof reading as someone who is very good with prolific write ups...i have read cases of people requesting for gcms and the content doesn't even make sense.. That's another money and time wasted...if the VO has decided not to give me fine...i understand, but when refusing someone a visa there should at least be a very informative or genuine reasons for not granting that person...mine was based on the fact that I have family ties in Canada...i do not and I don't even have a friend in there that I communicate with, so I'm done asking why and what went wrong.....i will reapply through paper route using the same docs hoping to see if they will refer to one ugly gcms... because in the later I was told to reapply without a genuine reason of being denied... even if it's my company or personal bank statement is my name not written on it, what about the reference letter stating I'm the sole signatory to the acct? Like someone rightly said he or she wasn't in a good mood to have sent me such letter...no crime in trying again...thanks much sha...

Hi Zamil3440, sorry for your refusal. primarily, this application is not about money. you have a company with inflow and outflow and a huge balance but are you spending this money as if its yours? did you make this application with your personal account? how did you budget your trip? your various trips, were they for business or pleasure and from which account were they funded? application route (paper or online) doesnt really matter because the new assessing VO will make reference to the GCMS notes to see if you have satisfied what you have run short of. the advise will be for you to source that document and address its concerns first. best of luck

My parents are planning to come to Canada on a visitor visa in August and I am not sure how to go about the Visa application to up their chances of approval. My dad is a lecturer, he is coming for a conference(5 days) and has been to conferences in different parts of the world, he has the invitation letter, hotel accommodation which is part of the conference package, I don't think he should have any issues.

However, My mum does not work and they want to apply together so that she can maybe ride on his application to get an approval for hers since her work history/travel history is not all that; she has travelled with him for one of his conferences, has been to hajj so a little bit of travel history.

I discovered that if I apply online their applications will be treated separately as per separate profile has to be created for each person and all that, unlike PR application; it may not work out well for my mum. I feel paper might be better since both of their applications will be packaged in the same envelope so perhaps they can treat them together, I know each person will probably be assessed individually but my dad has a letter of confirmation from his place of work stating that he will be travelling with her, coming back to his job etc so hopefully that counts for something.

She will not be coming with him, we just want to use the opportunity to get her a visa, Hubby and I are PRs in Canada. Need her to be able to come over when I have my baby so planning ahead cos we think applying for her alone at a later time may not work out well.

Any advise on the paper versus online approach based on the peculiarities of the application? Do I need to provide my bank statement for my mum?How many years visa so they typically give people for such short visits? Say we go the paper way do we need an appointment to submit at VFS or can they just go their with the docs?

I also included SOP which I wrote well and its explanatory enough.i explained in there that I will be sponsoring my self with the help of my husband and I won’t be staying with my sister as I already booked an hotel. That I am only attending the wedding and wil later visit her.

A ticket not paid for but to New York which I explained dat I will be heading to New York but will book the onward ticket if visa is approved.
I scaned our landed property but unfortunately I forgot to upload it on the application.

Anyway, I actually did present enough funds invested in Treasury Bills (NGN5M) and stated in my appplication that I was budgetting about CAD3,000 for the trip of 10 days! On the other hand, I however failed to present my land papers so I can say they actually got me good from the 'Personl Asset' angle. The land is in the village and I would have to start from the scratch acquring the necessary land papers. I simply can't start this process given the limited time I have to make this trip. On the other hand, my mum has an already surveyed land in her name and seeing that I am her only offspring, is ready to have that transferred to me. Is this okay? If so, what's the best way to go about getting the necessary transfer documents? Will a sworn affidavit of transfer suffice?

I would really appreciate your help with this, guys.

Get a lawyer to prepare a deed of gift/donation/transfer for you. If the land is already registered in the state land registry, you can proceed to get the consent form and approval of deed.

If you can request for the GCMS report for both applications it will do u good. Same reasons were stated for my sister until we requested for her GCMS report and therein lays the true pic of her refusal otherwise we wud have just keep reapplying without addressing the main reason for refusal and she wud have just be getting refused

Are you applying to visit a family/friend or for tourism?in your personal bank statement, how much did u present as balance? I think the $3000 is too small

Hello gurus in the house I need a sound advice. I want to relocate my family to Canada. Two kids plus their mum. The kids ages are 5 and 7. I have a very sound company with sound account (not boasting o). I intent to grant the kids scholarship through the Company while the mum serve as a guardian since they are very young. My questions now are:
1. Would this plan above fly;
2. Is there school for kids in Canada that is not too expensive;
3. What kind of Visa would be suitable for this plan;
4. Should we go for a visit first to get their school, then return back to apply for study permit
5. What more............

$3000 is way too small to present as bank balance or Bank transactions? This two things are two different things, $3000 is a big sum of money as a bank balance in Nigeria, but not enough as a bank transaction for the 3 or six months period.
People get visas on 200k bank balance. Dont be derailed, order your GCMNOTES.

That person didnt tell you the true picture. What has correspondent Letter from previous job got to do with visa? Oga this is not true, ask for full details of the application, he must have made reference to the previous job in the initial app that necessitated the VO demanding for it.

For your information all my visa are hotel reservation and i write letter stating my purpose of visit and i always get my visas. I have applied same way with hotel reservation and sites to be visited on behalf of friends/families who are first timers and they all get their visas, with a recent successful application.

That person who gave you that report is leaving you in the dark, ask for evidence before you conclude

You are very correct. I got all my visa with Hotel Reservation, I always write statement of purpose too and I always get my visas and with a recent successful application too still used the same hotel reservation.

I understand the 5m is in treasury bill but I mean in your personal bank account statement which u press ted, how much did you have as balance and is your account well run? The VO wasn't probably interested in your treasury bill but I think personal bank statement would have been better but you can only use your treasury bill as a support to show proof of fund.

Yes you may visit vfs with all your complete docs and as for paying of the visa fee, you can pay with cash at vfs and at the same time do your biometric.
