if you have submitted your application and have got your UCI, you may want to apply for a Planning for Canada Session. I hear the Canadian govt is planning to cut their budget(not certain but have heard it a number of times), so there maybe no more sessions soon. Now is the time to apply.

The Planning for Canada session is a one day event that last from 8am to 4pm, you would be educated on life in Canada and how to surmount the challenge of settling in to a new country. At the end of the session, you would be referred to pre-arrival settlement agencies and Focal point partners whose job it would be to answer your questions, link you up to Mentors and a host of other services that would support your pre-departure plans. Upon landing they would link you up with immigrant serving organizations within your province. I indulge everyone who can, to take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts. Beyond the glitz and glamour of immigrating to Canda, lies the rarely talked about arduous challenges of settling in and the Job hunt. Now is the time to start preparing to ensure your transition is as smooth as possible.

I am not a guru but I feel like this is what they want
Nov 2017 - date .....
Sept 2016 - Nov 2017...
July 2016 - Sept 2016...
March - July 2016...

I have read it here that they don't want to see any day gap. So every day should be accounted for. Make sure the dates merge, ending one in July and starting the next one in August looks like one month was left empty.
All the best.

Stopping July and starting August is okay. It could be July 31 and August 1.

@fizzile she is right. Let there be an overlap in the dates. Even if you did not have an overlap,
ensure that you use something like "Waiting to start new job" or "unemployed" in any period you have left blank. For instance, let there be an August 2016 end date for one activity that has another activity starting from the same August 2016 except you ended August 31 and started September 1st. Let it look something like:

July 2016 to August 2016 (Job A)
August 2016 to September (Unemployed or waiting to start a new job)
September 2016 to date. (Job B)
You should be fine. That's how I did mine though. Others may have different options sha.

Please I need clarification.

A friend has 4 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor with ND and 1 year in the same profession after he obtained HND.

Quantity Surveying falls under NOC 2234 and the educations requirement is as below;

Completion of secondary school is required.
Completion of a three-year college program in civil or construction engineering technology or Several years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in a construction trade such as plumbing, carpentry or electrical, are required.
Certification by the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors is usually required.

Please can he claim points for 3years or more?

Guys, a question please

Is a work reference letter from a family owned company an issue e.g I have worked with my brothers company since 2012 while still holding other jobs on the side. The company is the best and safest option to get the reference letter in the required format without the need for payslips. said company has been registered since 2007, also has a functional website. reference letter will come from a HR rep and not from my brother who bears the same surname.

Any update on your account yet? I tried to check through your posts to see if you mentioned anything. Just know you have a fan rooting for you here.

Yes, 2 years out of that was for HND. Shouldn't that mean he can use the remaining 2 years from the 4 years and the additional 1 year post HND?

if you have submitted your application and have got your UCI,

https://2register.planningforcanada.ca/register/index.php

This sounds like a brilliant idea but for someone who has submitted with just a UCI number, how do you get any of the requirements below?

You will need to provide one of the following documents confirming your eligibility:
an IRCC invitation to obtain pre-arrival services, or
a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter/document, or

a passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance, or
an IRCC request that an applicant for permanent residence complete a medical examination, or

a Single Entry Permanent Resident Visa, or

a Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter.

Awaiting your response.

In place of those just upload your ITA letter. That's what I did and I already attended the session.

Yes but the P.A has to be the one to register. After you have been scheduled for the session, you would be asked to send details of your spouse if she would accompany you to the session.

Please note "I THINK" it is important that the estimated departure date you fill in on the registration page is at least 3 months away. They want to be sure that you have enough time to make use of the pre-arrival services they would avail you of.

My People my people!
A family friend I told about EE same time I got to know about EE in April, just got off the phone now, asking me the date of birth CIC uses.
She is done with her ECA and IELTS, with her CRS standing at 450. The problem she has now is that her age in her ECA & IELTS report is different from her real age that is in her passport. The age used by her uncle to create ECA/IELTS account was 3yrs over her real age. If she uses this wrong age captured in both her ECA/IELTS report, her CRS will drop by 15points to 435, which is not comfortable with.
So she is asking me on what to do and how best to address this challenges, before she enters the pool, as she doesn't want anything that will make her case to be that of "misrepresentation".

Can she write to both ECA body and IELTS body she used to correct her date of birth with proof and also ask them to reissue the reports when they oblige?
Or she should go with the option of preparing her LOE on where the mix up came from, get affidavit, birth certificate and enter the pool and hope for the best with prayers?
I need experience opinions as she is so so worried.
